Damon, Amelia and Liz stand at the Quarry, overlooking the large lake and waterfall before them, Liz wearing a very skeptical look on her face. They were there for a reason,and it pained Amelia to think what could be happening, has been happening all Summer.
Silas told Damon he was making Stefan suffer, exactly how he had suffered all those years, being trapped on the Island in the cave. Immediately, they thought of the Quarry, and how that was where Stefan was meant to put Silas' body. If Stefan was in the Quarry, he had been drowning repeatedly all Summer, while they had the time of their lives.
"Damon, I know I said I'd help find your brother, but I can't dredge the entire Quarry. It's enormous" Liz tells them honestly, glancing between the Quarry and the two Vampires.
"I'm aware of that. I mean, clearly that's why we wanted to dump Silas' body here because it's big and deep and no one would find him" Damon explains knowingly "Now say I'm Silas and I wanted to take over my Doppelgangers life, why wouldn't I dump him in a place that is big and deep and no one would find him ?"
Liz sighs "Damon, I already agreed to hold off on telling anyone about the Mayor's death until you figure this all out, but I can't devote those kinds of resources to finding one person who may or may not be down there"
"But it's a pace to start, and if Stefan's down there...." The Salvatore trials off, guilt washing over his face "It means he's been drowning over and over again all summer while I've been happily playing house with Amelia. Do I need to further elaborate the source of my urgency ?"
Noticing the look on his and Amelia's face, how guilty the look at the thought of Stefan, she finally gives in "I'll get some Deputies on it"
Damon and Amelia flash her grins "Thank you Liz"
"Well, I feel crappy" Amelia sighs as Liz walks away, her eyes focused on the large lake before them.
She hears Damon mutter something along the lines of 'Join the club', when he answers the phone to Jeremy "Please tell me you found her ?"
"Yeah, have you found the bitch ?"
"I didn't" Jeremy begins "But Matt did"
"Huh" Damon says, looking shocked for a moment "How shockingly useful" Making Amelia elbow him in the ribs, giving him a small glare.
"She was mid cat fight with some lady who maced her" The Gilbert boy explains to them "We think Silas might of mind controlled himself some new friends"
Damon lets out a small scoff, disbelief of this written all over his face "How exactly did the Gilbert - Donovan brain trust put all that together ? Never mind. Doesn't matter. Just hide her. If Silas wants her bad enough, to sic the whole town on her, that means we want her more. Stay out of sight. You're the last person Silas saw her with"

Damon and Amelia stayed at the Quarry that day, watching as Officers dredge the Quarry, silently hoping Stefan wasn't down there. They felt guilty enough as it was, if he was really down there like they thought, it would make it worse.
Damon was talking with an Officer, and Amelia leaned against the car, playing a game on his phone since hers died. Her concentration is broke, when his phone begins to ring in her hands, and Elena's name appears on the Caller ID. A frown forms on her lips, before pressing answer and putting the phone to her ear.
"What do you want, Elena ?" She asks bluntly, giving Damon a look to hush, when he walks over to her with a confused look.
"Oh, Amelia, hey. Is, er, Damon around ?"
