Amelia was in denial.

She refused to believe it was truly her sister in that prison world, who stood next to an apparently alive Lily Salvatore. It wasn't possible. She refused to even humor the possibility what Bonnie caught on tape was real. So, while Damon was on a mission to discover the truth, Amelia placed her focus onto Caroline. Who apparently, had snapped Elena's neck after the wake and turned off her humanity.

She hadn't mentioned anything about Bonnie or the tape to Stefan and Elena, and placed all her concern on finding their blonde friend, before she did something that she would regret later on. As Elena searched their dorm at Whitmore, Stefan and Amelia double checked the Forbes household, which had been completely stripped of everything. Furniture, decorations, electronics. It was all gone, and so was Caroline.

"It's like she never lived here." Elena stated over the phone, having found exactly the same situation back at the dorm. "How's her house?"

"Totally empty." Amelia admitted with a sigh, running a hand through her hair as they made their way downstairs. "It's been stripped clean."

"Caroline took everything but the damn doors off the hinges." Stefan grumbled in annoyance.

"So what?" The Gilbert girl began. "She just flipped her humanity switch, came back to the dorm, and took all of her clothes and thank you notes, and just left town? I mean, it makes no sense."

"Thank you notes?" Amelia repeated in surprise, before tilting her head and nodding. "Yeah, even without humanity, she's still Caroline."

"This coming from the girl who burned her house down." The Salvatore retorted, making Amelia raise a brow at his irritated tone.

"Do you think she's trying to cut off all ties to her past?"

"I certainly don't think she's having a yard sale, Elena." Stefan snapped, causing Amelia to take the phone from his hand, stepping in front of him to stop him moving.

"Alright, you need to calm down." The Evans girl told him, trying to lighten the mood slightly. "Picking on the doppelganger is my job, not yours. Stay in your freaking lane."

"Why are you getting mad at me? I'm not the one who did this." Elena added in her own defense, his attitude finally getting to her.

Letting a breath, Stefan hung his head as he composed himself. "I know. I'm sorry." He apologized genuinely.

"Okay, look. I'm just gonna look around campus, maybe someone's seen her but just let me know if you find anything, okay?"

"Will do." Amelia said, hanging up. She then looked at Stefan in concern. "Are you going to be okay?"

"I'll be fine." He told her, but she just looked him unsure. "I'll be fine. Aren't you meant to be out of town right now?"

"Plans change." She shrugged, pulling out her phone as it began to ring. Seeing it was Damon, she rejected the call, only to get a message minutes later. Seeing it said to go meet him, she sighed and shoved it back in her pocket. "I need to go see your brother, but I'll keep a look out for her, alright? Ring me if anything happens."

When Amelia walked in, she froze when she saw Kai stood pouring himself a drink, her face growing instantly dark. Storming over, she grabbed his drink and threw it at the wall, grabbing him by the front and pinning him against the closest wall.

"I should kill you." She growled angrily. "Actually, scratch that, I am going to kill you."

"Always a pleasure, Amelia." Kai groaned, letting out a moan of pain as he grip tightened.
