Tris POV
Training ends with the typical Uriah generated competition. However this time he calls it 2 hours earlier. Which was definitely abnormal. Zeke comes in too. He is gonna be a referee apparently. He wears a whistle around his neck and carries a megaphone.
"Gather round!" He yells. "Today's competition will be better than anything we've ever done. We're going outside to play paintball wars."
"What's that?" A trainee asks.
"Why don't you shut up so I can explain." He says.
"Anyways. We will pick teams now then take the train which will come around in 20 minutes. Take a paintball gun and some paintballs after you are assigned your team via captains picking. Zeke will ref and after you're hit three times, your out. Believe me you'll want to be out. We're going to a mini forest, with trees and bushes to play, or open land... So use your brains..." Uriah says. "Christina and I will be captains."
He turns to Christina. "Ladies first." He says.
"Tris." She says my name.
"Tobias." Uriah picks next.
I glance at Tobias while Christina continues picking. "You're going down." I mouth. "Don't think I'll go easy."
"You wish." He smirks.
"Last one is Cara," Uriah says. "you're with us."
I follow Christina and get the paintballs and guns distributed to everyone. We then jumped first from the train.
"So are there any types of strategy?" A teammate asks.
"Just so whatever it takes and try not to get hit. Once you're hit three times your out. And it's almost excruciating the first time you do get hit so don't think you'll cheat past them." Chris says. Alright good to know
"I still have a bruise on my shoulder thanks to stupid Uriah." She says on a complaining yet sarcastic tone, and I try to contain my laughter.
"You gotta help me get him back Tris." She mumbles.
"Alright." I say, "We are gonna need a plan though."
LINEBREAK
Tobias POV
Uriah tells me his experience last time they played paintball. "I got Christina so good you should've seen it. Her face was priceless!"
"How? "I asked halfheartedly..
"Easy, I stayed in a tree the entire time. Christina just came running by, and BAM!" Uriah says.
"Okay so height." I say. "I'm sure speed could work too. I mean height is a bit risky and repetitive."
"Nah, we just have to conceal ourselves well enough and I guarantee that they'll running come right into our trap again." Uriah says. "At least that is what I'll do."
"Well good luck. I got another idea." I run off towards the forest. Yea no way am I climbing a tall tree.
Tris POV
Christina and I climb a tree. It is a big oak, with many branches and leaves, perfect for concealment.
The plan was simple. Conceal ourselves in the tree Uriah found last time. According to Chris, he was bound to come up again and we give him some of his own medicine.
"Just wait a bit til he's like almost mid tree we shoot him." Christina whispers.
I nod, "It's all you." I was more interested in getting someone else. Using height against someone who happens to not be the most fond of heights.
