POV

Tobias and I cuddle together on my bed. He looks a bit uncomfortable, like he's holding something back.

"Something bothers you, what is it?" I ask.

"It's a little complicated I'm not sure how to explain." He says.

"Just spit it all out. Even in pieces, I'll figure it out." I encourage.

"Okay." He says. "So you know when I came late to dinner today?"

"Yes?" I answer.

"Well I wasn't showering. I was looking around the compound. I realized there was a room where nobody ever goes. I've been going for a while now, trying to figure out stuff." He says.

"Where is this room?" I ask.

"It's at the edge of the right side, of the Pit. If you climb, there's a glass building above, with just a glass room and an old computer inside." He says.

"Why have you never told me about this?" I ask in a bit of hurt.

"Well I wanted to, I just had to wait til it was the right time, when I figured it out. I didn't want to burden you and you already had stuff on your mind." He says.

I nod, "Okay."

"I also found a black box with a syringe inside it too." He continues, "It was under my bed and I figured they went together. I figured out the program, it had a list of many people's names, including yours, mine, Christina, Uriah, Zeke, and practically everyone in this compound."

"What does it mean?" I raise my eyebrow in suspicion.

"I don't know..." He stutters. "But I managed to go through mine. Just had these weird visions within a very detailed landscape after a prick with a syringe."

There is a bit of discomfort in his voice, "What visions."

"My fears..." He said.

"Do you think you can program the computer to mine?" I ask and sit up. "Maybe I can find out some stuff too."

He sits up with me. "Sure, when should we go?"

"Now." I say.

LINEBREAK

Tobias leads me to the eccentric glass building compound above the Pit.

He has the black box with a syringe in it in his hand.

"I'm not sure I can go through with you, but the computer might show your visions too." He asks.

He takes out the syringe and injects me. "Good luck. Just know it's not real if you get stuck."

I nod and walk into the room. It's weird. I could see Tobias through the other side and the beautiful midnight lights outside.

I close my eyes. And open them.

I'm in a weird field. I try to walk around. My feet are stuck. I can't move.

Then a crow comes. Followed by many more. They come in vast numbers, scratching my face and body. Their talons burn into my flesh and I yell in agony.

This is it. This is what pain and death feel like.

There is nothing around me. I force myself to walk.

Oh how I wish there was some water I could use to cleanse my sores and be free of the crows.

Just then, a hole of water next to me forms, I relax and dive head first into the water.
