Vic's POV
_____
Aw fuck, I was slurring and stumbling. My mind clouded over by the alcohol. But, I was having a fucking fantastic time. Jack was by my side, along with Mike and Alex.
"What time is it?" Alex asked us. I felt myself laugh. Alex had been our designated manager. He'd picked the short stick and had to remain sober enough to think clearly and be able to get us all home safe and sound.
"I don't fucking know!" Jack started dancing by flailing his arms about. Alex shook his head.
"It's almost one." Mike told Alex after he'd looked at his phone. Mike was far better at holding his liquor than any of us.
"Okay, guys, we're going home. Mike go get Tony and Rian." Alex took ahold of my and Jack's arms.
"Oh my God, dude, I feel like I'm swimming or some shit." Jack slurred out.
"What? We're walking, not swimming, stupid." I slurred back. Mike, Tony and Rian came into view.
"The crew's all together!" Jack tried to make Alex release his arm. "Fuck, Alex, let me fucking go."
"No, you're drunk, he's drunk, you're all fucking drunk and we're going home." Alex told him seriously. Jack pouted.
"I'm sorry." Jack told him. Alex gave him a thin, straight-lined smile.
"It's cool. Is everyone here?" He began counting the people in our small group. "Six, okay, we're all here. Let's go."
"Go ape-shit!" Tony said and began to start dancing.
"No, calm the fuck down. Mike, grab him, please." And we all started walking out the club. "Ugh, I feel like a mom or something."
"You are my mom, Alex." Jack started skipping along the sidewalk, his arm still in Alex's grasp.
"Who's bus is this?" Alex asked us all, ignoring Jack's comment.
"I think it's Pierce's." Rian spoke. He was buzzed, but nowhere near the level of Tony, Jack and I.
"Yeah, it is. C'mon, Tony and Vic." Mike said, Alex released his hold on me and I stumbled a little bit. Tony stepped onto the bus first followed by me and then Mike. It was quiet on the bus, Evie must've been asleep. But my thoughts drifted to Jaime.
"Ahhhh!" Tony screamed out playfully.
"Hey, hey, calm that shit. People are asleep." Mike said to Tony sternly. Tony grinned goofily.
"They should wake up. Ah-" Before Tony could scream again, Mike put his hand over his mouth, silencing him.
"If you scream, I promise you, it will not be pretty. Now go shower, and go to fucking bed." Tony nodded, Mike's hand still over his mouth. Tony went down the hall and the sound of the shower turning on echoed throughout the bus. Mike turned to me. I tensed up a little.
"I'm going to bed, Mike. See you in the morning." I said to him and went to my bunk.
I awoke the next morning with a splitting headache. I rolled over and my bunk curtain was pulled open by Jaime, who handed me some Advil and a glass of water.
"You really are the best." I said go him as I gratefully took the hangover-killers. He crawled into my bunk with me and closed the curtain back.
"I figured so." He joked. "You had a good time last night?"
"Probably, wish I could recall a lot more of it." I joked lightly. He frowned a little, but covered it with a smile.
"I'm happy you had a good time, babe."
"Thanks, and how about you, what'd you do?"
"Eh, this, that. Ya know. I hung out with Zach."
"Hm? And did you patch things up with Evie?" His smile fell completely and was a frown.
"Vic, I don't think I can." He looked down at his lap. "I need to tell you something, and I'm fucking tired of putting this off."
"Okay, I'm ready. I promise to not flip shit, or anything." I reached over and took his hand in mine.
"Vic, Evie hates me. And she hates me.because I'm gay. She won't let me be around River anymore because of my sexuality." He took a shaky breath. "I'm sorry, Vic. I did try to get along with her, but I just can't." His words weighed like stones on my chest. Evie, the one person who I'd found beautiful and kind, was homophobic. And to make matters worse, she'd hurt my Jaime.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" I asked him quietly. He dropped his eyes from mine, and I could hear him start to cry softly.
"I wanted to, but I was scared. I didn't want you to get mad and kick her out, she might take away River, and I know you love him. And I wasn't sure if you'd believe me." He rambled on. I hugged him tightly.
"Shhh. Baby, I'd believe you. I have no reason not to. Thank you for finally telling me." I whispered to him. He continued to cry, and cry, making my anger and disgust at Evie rise with each sob. How fucking dare she? Out of all people, she had made it seem like she accepted me. This wasn't the end. I needed her gone, but I also needed to be calm and rational about this. I broke away from Jaime enough to kiss his lips. "I'll fix this, I promise you."
A few hours after I'd woken up, me and Jaime were cuddling on the couch, watching a movie. I had lost interest in the movie long ago, instead finding entertainment in sliding my hand up Jaime's thigh until he'd slap my hand away.
"Babe, quit it." Jaime hissed at me, I caught him suppressing a smile.
"I don't think you want me to." I whispered in his ear. He started to blush and bite his lip nervously.
"Not now, or here." He said shyly.
"Fine." I kissed his cheek and settled back into his side.
"Hey, Remember's having a BBQ. You want to go?" Mike asked us as he came out of the bunk area. I glanced at Jaime.
"Okay, yeah, we'll go." Jaime told him.
"Cool. It's near their bus. And uh, I'm leaving now." Mike left the bus. Me and Jaime could hear Evie tickling River in the back.
"C'mon, let's get going." I said wiggling my way out of Jaime's arms.
"Is Evie going to go?" He asked me super quietly. I shrugged.
"Dunno." I told him. For her and my sake, I hoped she wasn't going. I just knew to my core that it wouldn't take much to set me off at that point. No one, and I mean no fucking one, messes with my Jaime.
