Vic's POV
____
I didn't wake up until two hours before our show the following day. I hadn't been sleeping very well, since I'd been so anxious about Evie's arrival. I had had a great time playing with my son. He was adorable in every way possible.
When I had awoken, the first thing I noticed was that I was in Jaime's bed, and that he wasn't there. I ran a hand through my slightly, curly hair and slid out of the bunk. I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower before going to the front lounge to face everyone.
"Hey, Sleeping Beauty." Mike joked to me. I flicked him off playfully.
"Where's Jaime?" I asked him. All Time Low was on the bus, hanging out.
"Dunno, haven't seen him. He's probably watching Remember's set or something." Mike said to me.
"I had seen him, he looked upset." Rian spoke up. "Or maybe he was tired. I dunno."
"We'll worry about that later. He'll want his space anyway." Tony mumbled.
"True dat." Jack said glancing at me. Evie came out of the bunk hallway and began looking through the fridge. "Um..who's that?"
"Oh, uh, we never told anyone." Tony mumbled, almost to himself. Evie turned and looked at the guys.
"You can say I'm an ex of Vic." Evie gave them a smile."I'm Evie."
"An ex?" Zach whispered to Rian. Rian shrugged.
"Nice to meet you, Evie. So what brings you on tour?" Alex asked her kindly.
"This, that. My son, mostly." She said to him. They guys looked at her oddly. And I honestly didn't blame them. I could feel the heat on my cheeks before she even went into details about why she was there. I watched in horror as she explained to them about River and our whole mis-shaped-family-sort-of-thing.
"Oh. Well, congrats." Alex had a forced grin on his face. Zach nodded in agreement with Alex.
"Will the little guy see us perform?" Jack asked, a bit excitedly.
"Probably not, dude. Babies have sensitive ears." Rian replied evenly.
"We could get him earmuffs or something." Jack suggested lightly. I shrugged. I didn't think that a concert was a place that a baby should be, with or without eatmuffs.
"Evie." I said. She looked at me with an untold 'Yeah?' "Where's River?"
"In my bunk. I think he might still be sleeping. Actually, wake him up. He needs to eat." Evie told me passively. I nodded and went to go get him. He was lying down, but wasn't asleep. His dark brown eyes were looking all around the bunk. He started laughing when he saw me, and that made me break out into a huge grin.
"Hey, mijo." I whispered to him as I picked him up. I'd gotten a lot better at holding him and wasn't as nervous to do so. I checked to see if he needed to be changed or not; he did. Fuck. Evie hadn't taught me how to change a diaper. What was I supposed to do?
Okay, calm down, Vic. You've seen her do this numerous times. It can't possibly be that hard. I thought to myself. After about fifteen minutes of trying to change River's diaper, I think me and him were a bit flustered and frustrated.
"Hey, uh, Evie..I can't seem to do this right." I called as I carried River into the front lounge. The diaper lumpy, mis-placed and on backwards. The room immediately started laughing.
"We had been wondering what was taking you so long." Alex told me in between laughs.
"Let me help you out. I'll show you, go get the diaper bag." Evie took River from my hands and I did as I was told. When I came back, I stood silently as she showed me, step-by-step how to change a diaper, properly.
"We gotta get going, now." Our tour manager, Pete, called to us from the door of the bus. "You go on in thirty." Mike, Tony and I were all ready to go. The one thing stopping us was that Jiame wasn't there and none of us had seen him.
"Can we meet you at the stage, Jiame's not here." I asked him. Pete stepped onto the bus.
"Where is he? Is he on the phone with his mom?" Pete asked glancing about the bus. His eyes landed on the discarded diaper bag that lied on the couch. "What the hell is that?"
"A diaper bag." Mike said to him.
"Someone better tell me what it's doing there." Pete said through gritted teeth.
"It's Evie's. She staying for the week, along with my son." I explained briefly. he frowned.
"Thank you, for the heads up." Pete said, his voice dripping of sarcasm. "Everyone to the stage, now. I'll get Jaime."
"But none of us know where is." I reminded him. He shrugged.
"Someone knows." Pete clapped his hands. "Off the bus!" We filed off the bus and walked to the stage. We could hear All Time Low doing their set. Usually, I would've been watching the whole thing, but that day I'd decided to play with River.
We all were side-stage, watching our good friends play with all their hearts. I couldn't quite tell what song they were playing, but it sounded like something off their new album. Pete left us to go find Jaime as we stayed silent. Even Tony seemed quieter than usual.
"Hey, Alex. What song are we doing next?" Jack asked Alex playfully.
"Did you seriously forget the next song? It's four fucking words." Alex said playing along.
"Um, is it a new one?" Jack asked him. Alex sighed into his mic heavily.
"It's A Love Like War" Alex told him as the crowd roared their approval.
"Oh, aren't we missing someone then?" Jack asked him. They always played up my entrance onto the stage. Constantly. I'd tell them they really didn't have to, but, the band liked giving an entertaining show.
"Yeah, where's Victor? Victor Fuentes?" Alex called. I took a deep breath, grabbed my mic and walked onto the stage, leaving my band side-stage.
"The whole name? Why, I'm flattered." I joked. Jack started playing the opening chords.
"Only the best for you." Alex turned to the crowd. "Get on your fucking feet!"
"And that was Vic of Pierce The Veil." Alex said as I waved goodbye to the crowd. I high-fived Mike and Tony when I came side-stage.
"Where's Jaime?" I asked them. This wasn't like Jaime to just not show. He'd always be on time, and he was on the verge of being late. We had to go on in less than eight minutes, and nobody had a clue where he was. I was panicking. I hadn't done anything to upset him. I don't think anyone had. Dammit, Jaime.
"Pete said that he couldn't find him." Mike informed me. No. Not today. I was going to find Jaime. "Vic! Come back!" Mike yelled after me as I took off in search of my Hi-Me.
