Me and Ray were still sitting close next to each other, holding each other's hands and hoping someone would save us. We couldn't go anywhere since we were totally surrounded by fire.
I felt my lungs were about to give up, but I didn't want to die here and not today.
" Ray ", I tried to speak normally, " I don't feel like I'm - like I'm gonna make it "
" No no no no, Clara, you can't give up now, please, stay with me " she squeezed my hands and I felt everything getting blurry and black. It felt like my lungs got filled with a thick, black mass. I felt like fainting any minute.
" Clara, please, stay with me, don't go now, you have so much to live for, you can't leave me alone, CLARA " Ray's voice echoed through my mind as my whole life flashed before my eyes.
It all started at the moment I was born. I saw my parents, doctors and myself.
13th of april of the year 2000.
I saw - I saw my brother, he dribbled, he fell and stopped moving. Everyone who was standing around the field ran onto it. My dad and mum rushed themselves through the mass of people, trying to find the coach and their son.
Ben was dead.
I saw little me together with little Ally, Henry and William, playing with Playmobile, while my parents and other - I suppose - family members started to discuss. Until it became a fight. They screamed, they threw glasses. And we, the children, cried as we heard our parents and grandparents scream to each other.
I saw myself, with a guitar in my hands. I failed. I failed again. I kept failing. Suddenly there was a guy with me. Martijn.
" Come on, don't give up " the little boy's voice echoed through my mind.
" Come on, don't give up "
" Come on, don't give up "
I saw myself, finding a CD in a closet. A CD from DJ Tiesto.
I saw that moment, that summer when Martijn left me alone.
But then, there was that moment Martijn joined me and my parents to our vacation in Rhodes. Moments of joy and happiness flashed through my mind very quickly.
And then the accident followed. I got hit by a car. It was my fault. I was laying on the street, but now I saw what happened. The driver jumped out of her car and ran over to me. My parents screamed my name as they did the same. Martijn was crying so hard. My dad got up and yelled at him. Martijn's eyes told me he felt so guilty. So guilty he would be broken for the rest of his life.
The moment I met Vincent for the very first time. It feels so long ago.
But as clumsy as I was I bumpted into this guy with gorgeous brown eyes and fluffy brown hair. It was like an angel who just fell from the sky.
" I'm sorry " I said.
" It's okay, it was my fault "
" Not really, but okay " I laughed.
" You're new here right? " he asked. This could be a start of a new friendship.
" Yes, my name is Clara " I reached my hand.
