Chapter 22 : Gift !!!!

Tris's POV

I wake up due to my nightmares.Not so unusual.

It's 7 AM.

I don't go back to sleep.Neither do I go for walking.

I throw on some clothes.Clothes that can be worn to a mall.

Everyone is asleep.

I grab Uriah's scooter keys and my wallet and head to the mall.

I asked Uriah if there was a mall close by that was open 24 hours.He told me that Dauntless mall is open 24 hours.He also told me that the mall was really popular.So there were directions on the road to reach it.And I could follow them to reach the mall.

"Why do you need to go to the mall ?",He asked.

"I need to buy a gift",I told him.

"Gift ?",He asked.

"For Four",I said.He just grinned and winked at me.

I laughed and playfully slapped the back of his head.

"You can take my scooter.Keys are on the table.They're always there",Uriah said.

"Thanks Uri",I said and hugged him.He had become a good friend of mine.

In fact everyone had.

I finally reach the mall.

What am I supposed to buy ?

I am so confused.

I remember Four telling me he's into electronics.

So I head to an electronics store.

I look around.

What can I possibly get him ?

My eyes fall on a Virtual reality headset.

I should buy that.

So I do.

I don't know if he will love my gift but something tells me that he might like it.

Why do I even care ?

If he likes it or not.

I'm just buying him a gift out of courtesy.

But I know deep down in my heart that that's not true.

If it was....I wouldn't worry about him not liking my gift.

Ughh ! Shut up Tris !

I pay for the VR headset and exit the store.

While I'm heading outside the mall....my eyes fall on a dictionary in an educational store.

I don't think...I just enter the store,grab the dictionary and stand in the billing counter.

Let's write a new dictionary.

You're such a geek

Why would you say that ?

You have a dictionary in your room

Eyy.....No.This is not mine.I don't have one.Its Will's and....did you just laugh ?

You should laugh more often.You look beautiful when you laugh

I find myself smiling at that memory.It's my turn to pay.I don't realize I'm still smiling till it's my turn to pay.

"I'm sure you guys are a cute couple",The cashier says.She's a pretty woman.I guess she's as old as I am.

"What ? Who ?",I ask confused.

"You and the one whose thoughts are making you smile",She says smiling.

"We're not-....Thanks",I say smiling.I wanted to tell her that were not dating.Me and Four.And we never will.And I came here to kill him.

But of course I couldn't and I didn't.So,I just thanked her because....I didn't want to burst her bubble.

Is that the truth Tris ?

Is that the reason you lied ?

Of course !

I pay for the dictionary,thank the lady and leave the store.

I buy a greeting card from a nearby store and head home.

I hope Four likes my gift.

I really do.
