[a/n]: honestly iffy about this chapter. It has to be in here for the outcome of the book but it feels like it escalated?? Sigh.

Chapter 25. Aftermath

His lips were intoxicating, capturing my undivided attention. His kiss was gentle and savoring, his hands were on either side of my face, keeping me close to him as he kissed me deeply. He smelled of coffee beans and smooth lavender. It was unbelievable; Jasper and I were kissing. My thoughts were scrambled into few fragments that were based upon my craving for more of Jasper.

His lips were sweet.

His eyes were enchanting.

His hair was soft.

He was... perfect.

Our lips parted slowly, Jasper's teeth tugging my lower lip as he pulled away from me. We both caught our breaths and gazed into each other's eyes, a smile appearing on both our lips.

"Aria?" Jasper whispered.

"Yeah?"

"I believe I'm falling in love with you."

My smile faded in surprise.

"You don't mean that," I murmured in astonishment.

He shook his head in disagreement, a grin never leaving his lips.

"I meant every word, Davidson," he wooed.

"Well then I guess I should say something," I suggested.

"What's that?"

"I think I've fallen for you, too," I beamed and his grin grew wider.

He kissed me again, slowly and deeply,  then laid his head on my shoulder, wrapping his arms around my torso. I placed my hand on the back of his head and gently ran my hands through his hair as he placed small kisses on my neck. As we silently laid there in the hotel bedroom, both of us slowly began to drift off. My eyelids began to shut and our breaths became slower. Eventually my hand stopped running through Jasper's hair and his lips stopped leaving small kisses on me.

Eventually, we fell asleep.

Peacefully, happily, blissfully.

We slept.

-

An extremely annoying buzz met my ears the next morning. My tired eyes propped open, the sunlight entering my irises blindingly. Jasper was still somewhat on top of me, his head in the crook of my neck and his arms wrapped around me; my arms around his neck. His breaths were slow and even, indicating that he was likely still asleep. Intaking a large breath of air, I stretched my limbs out and reached over Jasper for my phone.

Oddly enough the caller ID read Nathan.

"Hello?" I yawned into the phone.

"You have... To..." Nathan rasped on the other line.

I sat up straight, unintentionally awaking Jasper.

"Nathan, what's the matter?" I inquired skeptically.

"It's... I didn't want to, Aria, but... We had a deal..." Nathan wheezes, his voice cracking.

"Who? Who did you make a deal with?"

"You have to leave..." Nathan urgently demanded, his voice barely abode a whisper.

"Hey, tell me what's going on!" I exclaimed, beginning to grow nervous.

"What's the matter?" Jasper whispered, sitting up beside me.

"It's Mr. Ross... I made a deal with Jasper's dad," Nathan weakly confessed.
