Chapter 13. Tea and Confessions

                 Don't get me wrong, I know there is trouble whenever Kade or Jasmine are around, but when they're at my house, with my parents, and my school principal, I know there is something much more than pranks going on around here. Slowly, I close the door behind me and suspiciously glance between my parents and Kade.

"What's going on?" I inquire.

"Aria, why don't you sit down." Dad firmly suggests.

Knowing I should listen this time around, I hesitantly sit down beside Mom in an empty seat.

"What's going on?" I inquire.

"Well, Miss Davidson, I saw on the school video cameras that Jasper Ross and you left the school during school hours. Considering this is your second offense towards the school rules, I had no choice but to call your parents." Principal Fulton says.

My stomach drops to my feet and I feel my hopes and dreams die, knowing I will be grounded for life and never earn my parents trust back.

"It's not what you think--"

"So, you didn't leave the school?" Jasmine asks in an innocent voice.

"What are you even doing here?" I change the subject.

"We called them over." Dad informs me.

"What? Why?" I scowl.

"Because we needed to know if you ever ditched school before. See if you ever did drugs.. or.." Mom fans her face, appearing to tear up.

"What? Mom, I haven't done drugs! I haven't done anything wrong, actually! You're my parents, how do you not trust me? And why are Kade and Jasmine involved in this conversation-- why are they even in the house!" I fume.

"Calm down!" Dad intervenes.

"No! You're supposed to believe your own daughter over some strangers, who by the way, set me up!" I shout again.

"Aria, that's enough." Dad curtly snaps.

I shut my trap after his angry tone puts me in my place. From the corner of my eye, I notice Kade whispering something to Jasmine and my blood begins to boil.

"Your parents and I have discussed some things over, and we have concluded to give you detention for two weeks. I really expected more from our newest student and I thought it wouldn't be that hard for you to stay out of trouble for a few more weeks before school is out; evidently, I stand corrected. I will see you tomorrow in school." Mr. Fulton sternly says.

"Have a good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Davidson." he nods once to them and exits the flat.

We are all left in silence after that.

"Mrs. and Mr. Davidson, you called me and Jasmine over to help you understand what Aria has done in the past and I strongly advice we.. speak in private." Kade glances over to me, a glimmer of deception in his crystal like eyes.

My jaw falls open. "You little-"

"Hey, watch it. You're on very thin ice, Aria." Dad raises an eyebrow.

My jaw clenches and I glower angrily at Kade and Jasmine.

"Honey, why.. why don't you go to your room?" Mom hesitant requests.

"You know what? I'll do even better and leave the house; give you and you're two favorite people in the world some space!" I snap with venom in my tone.
