Catalina.

"Your siblings are okay, Dr Hernandez," Dr Bentham started,"Joachim is the only one who seems to be predisposed to Tacchycardia, but he is a strong young man so I am not worried about him."

"That is great news," I replied taking a seat in the vistor's chair across the desk from him.

"Well you too are healthy enough, your vitals are fine," Dr Bentham said as he read through my file.

"That's good," Cristiano murmured from besides me.

"There is no signs of irregularities in the heart, the heartbeat is normal and the brain is functioning well of course."

"Thank god," I sighed in relief.

"But..." Dr Bentham said cautiously.

"But?" Cris and I wondered at the same time.

"There are some red flags from your blood and urine tests," the doctor said in an uncertain voice,"We haven't pinpointed the cause as yet. We have to wait at least two more hours to get clearer results from the test."

"Should I be concerned?" I asked calmly while Cris was silently freaking out besides me.

"From what the preliminary tests have shown, no you do not have to be concerned. It's just some slight irregularities."

..........................................

"So you have to go back in half an hour for the results?" Carima asked quietly.

All of us were back in Maman's hospital room for the first time since she was admitted. I never realised how spacious the room was until all ten of us actually fit inside with ease.

Everyone else were engaged in conversations, Junior and Chrysa played with their toys on the carpeted floor while Carima and I just sat quietly by Maman's side.

"Yeah but I'm not too worried." I said, raising my head from her shoulder

"I would be freaking out. You know how dramatic I can be at times,"She said,"Although I do think Cris is the one losing his mind. He has started fidgeting again,"

I glanced across the room and sure enough Cris was pacing, slowly, but still pacing nonetheless while talking to Javier and Josep. His eyes wandered over to me and I gave him my best reassuring smile which he only returned half heartedly. Suddenly I felt a nudge on my elbow and Junior came out of nowhere, wiggling his way into my lap.

"Is something wrong with Papa?" He asked quietly. I gave him a small smile, amazed by how perceptive he was for a child his age.

"He's just a bit worried, Junior," I replied.

"Worried for what, mom?" He asked with his brown eyes wide with concern. I never actually grasped how much he looked like his father.

"Why don't you ask him dear?" I kissed his cheek and prodded him in his father's direction. He looked at me almost skeptically before nodding then made his way over to Cris. He nudged Cris' foot hard and signalled that he wanted him to lift him up. Junior leant in and whispered something to Cris that made his eyes shoot towards me. I shrugged noncommittally and a small smile crept on to his face. Cris hurriedly whispered back something to Junior that made him burst out into a fit of giggles.

"What did you tell him?" I mouthed increduously.

"Nothing," Cris mouthed back placing Junior back on his feet.

I shook my head in amusement and reverted to watching Chrysa play. She looked so carefree, so young and innocent and very much unaware of the tension in her family right now.
