Cristiano
Sunday was such a beautiful day. Catalina had invited Pepe, Sergio and Marcelo out for a day on her yacht.
Needless to say they were excited.
Everyone else declined because they had plans beforehand, but no matter. Marcelo brought his wife and Sergio and Pepe brought their girlfriends. Catalina got along with them well, immediately striking up conversations with them about god knows what women talk about.
The Mediterranean was a beautiful sight, the water sparkling in the sunlight and Marcelo decided it would be funny to jump in, effectively forgetting that he doesn't know how to swim. Long story short, his wife and Lina had to pull him out before any major damage could have been caused.
Other than that, it was really fun. We took turns on the jet-skis, prepared our own lunch, sun bathed and everything else imaginable.
Catalina and I were finally alone on the boat as the others retired for their homes.
The sun had gone down and the sky was filled with stars. We were laying next to each other, her head on my chest, just gazing up to the sky. Neither of us were talking but the silence was peaceful.
"I'm going back to work next week," Catalina said breaking the silence.
"So soon?" I know it had to come to this but not so soon. I would miss seeing her regularly and I know Junior would be heart broken not to have her around as often.
"Yes," She sighed, turning to face me, we just stared at each other, studying the little aspects of each others faces.
"I've decided to change my schedule," She announced.
"What do you mean by that, sweetheart," I asked utterly confused.
"After I finish my time in Africa, I'll change my schedule to mirror yours. Whenever you have to travel out of the country, I'll be working abroad but whenever you have days off or have to travel around Spain, I'll be working in the local hospital, I'll probably have time off to come to some of your games. Next year I'll set up my lab in Madrid so as to ease the pressure of going back and forth and I'll work for the speciality hospital WHO is planning to set up for us here next year. I think settling down would be good for me." She said.
I looked at her, in awe.
"You're willing to change your life just to cater for being with me ?" I asked quietly.
"Cris, there are a lot of things I would do for you," She replied. I small smile just crept up on my face,"But this will also be good for my patients and office."
"And I would for you," I said. We then fell into silence again.
My heart was overjoyed, three months, and this woman has just came in and gave my life a push in a positive direction.
"I wonder how my life would have been if I hadn't met you," She spoke up.
She twisted herself to sit in my lap and placed her arms around my neck. I placed my hand on her thigh and caressed her.
"Probably boring," I joked. She stuck her tongue out at me.
"I would not change any of this. I would not give up the time I've spent with you for anything." She replied, leaning in to me.
I raised up to meet her lips. At first it was slow and soft, gentle. She ran her hands through my hair. Then in a flash she began to straddle me, I held on tight to her hips and deepened the kiss with a sort of hunger.
I would not give this woman up for the world.
