Catalina."What time is it? The sun is going down..." I asked Adelia as we practically tore through the house, kicking aside toys in the living room with Diana and Carima hot on our heels.
"Ten minutes to six,"Adelia quickly glanced at her watch.
She carefully unhooked the veil from my hair and flung it over her shoulder as we climbed the stairs two steps at a time.
"Shit, how did we get so carried away?" I chuckled, taking off the earrings.
"Girl we were in our element getting those pictures taken." Carima laughed.
"Diana get her out of that dress while I get the other one," Adelia instructed before disappearing into my closet.
"Turn," Diana ordered and I didn't hesitate to obey. She unzipped the dress and helped me to step out of it before placing it on the bed.
"What are doing with it?" Diana asked curiously.
"I don't know as yet." I changed the shoes I had on to a pair of sleek, gold McQueen heels.
"Here we go." Adelia held the bag with the dress in her hands as if it were a bomb,"Same drill as the last time, just that this one doesn't have as much of a train."
I held onto Carima's shoulders as Adelia slid the dress up my body and Diana held the bottom firmly in place. With one fluid motion, Adelia zipped up my reception dress and stood back to admire it.
Whatever Zuhair felt the first dress lacked in creativity, he certainly made it his duty to make up for it with this one.
The details on the dress were exquistely done, from the curve of the straps to the flare of the train. The lace patterns were beautiful but intricate and yet it felt light as if I was clothed with just cotton.
"I want this dress," Diana pouted,"It's so pretty I could cry."
"Don't." Adelia warned,"Carima just finish Catalina's hair before Diana makes us late."
"You're so lucky you're pregnant." Diana mumbled, sitting down next her friend.
"Or else what?" Adelia challenged but Diana had already given up.
"Hmmmm," Carima tilted my chin with her fingers, murmuring to herself,"Up or down?"
"Down," she finally conceded and began pulling the pins from the bun,"Adelia please retouch her makeup, give her a little dark eyeshadow to bring out her eyes. Not too much."
"Could have told me that before I sat down," Adelia mumbled under her breath but still got up to do as Carima directed.
In no time, Adelia used her magic hands to give me a subtle, smoky look that highlighted the green in my eyes. Carima brought back my signature shiny curls that fell uniformly around my shoulders and back with a wide tooth comb and a bottle of natural hairspray that smelled like coconut and shea butter.
"Slay bitch," Diana snapped her finger when they were finished with me,"Let me get a picture of you. Cris and all my Instagram followers will go wild for this"
"Pose for the camera," Carima nudged me out of my reverie
"Simple or Fierce?" I walked over to the doorway to give her better lighting
"Give me fierce babe."
..........................................
Cristiano.
"What are they doing up there?" I enquired after fifteen minutes had passed already.
"Knowing they probably got sidetracked with a mini photoshoot." Joachim shook his head,"Ah look they're here now. Let me get the partition back up."
For the second time today I was completely overwhelmed by how beautiful my wife is.
This dress was far more intricate than the last and showed off the figure she was blessed with. But that did not take away from her hair, which was down in it's everyday style but still managed to look new and refreshing, nor her breathtaking smile as she laughed at something Carima was saying to her.
"You're staring," she commented as she slipped into the backseat with me,"Use your words."
"You want to know something?" I leaned in towards her ear,"I can take you right now."
Something flickered in her eyes. A fleeting emotion that was extremely primal, raw, animalistic and so damn sexy. She licked her lips seductively and crossed her long legs, making one peak through the slit in her dress.
"I'm tempted to take you up on that offer." She ran her hand up and down my thigh before entwining our fingers,"But we have an entire honeymoon for that, plus I rather not scar my brother."
I kissed her deeply, running my hands through her thick mass of curls and down the curve of her back. She gently swung her bare leg across to rest against my legs.
"Mrs Aveiro," I peppered her neck with kisses.
"That sounds so good," she murmured as she caressed my cheek while she encouraged me to continue kissing her sweet spot.
I felt the car come to a stop after what seemed like ten minutes. I fixed my bowtie straight while Catalina tried to get her hair back in order.
"No hickeys right?" She flipped her hair off of her shoulders.
"Sadly no," I pouted grumpily.
"Behave," she hit me playfully. Leaning over, I quickly pinched her ass and ducked out of the car before she could take a swipe at me.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Joachim whistled appreciatively as he looked around.
The grounds surrounding the reception hall was full of tall, willowy trees and enticingly fragrant flowers, the only break in the scenery being the clay brick path that led down to the riverside.
I got around to her side and opened the door for her. At first she smiled graciously when I lent her my hand but the minute she stood upright, I felt a sharp pain on my neck.
"Did you just flick me?" I laughed increduously.
"We're even," she didn't even look at me seeing how she was preoccupied with staring at the massive wooden building before us,"Where are they?"
"Oh you're finally here," Sariena suddenly burst through the revolving doors with Miguel hot on her heels.
"Why are you guys late? And where are Diana, Carima and Adelia? We need to get in there now." Miguel rested his hands on his knees to catch his breath.
"Here they come," Joachim pointed out as Carima's Mercedes came up the winding driveway,"Don't worry, you aren't that behind schedule."
"Are you guys ready?!" Diana practically screamed as she hopped towards us on one foot, trying desparately to fix her heel.
"Everyone except you," I joked as the Junior and Crysa joined us out front to complete the wedding party,"Why is it always you?"
"Oh hush," she spat miserably, taking Miguel's arm and walking off on Sariena's orders.
"Leave her alone Cris," Catalina shook her head and smiled. The receptionist of the hotel smiled at us and offered her congratulations as we passed her desk.
"Maybe," I smirked as we came out of the lobby and walked down the painting lined hallway past two security guards,"She's so easy to tease."
"You two are so anno.." she stopped talking as her mouth fell open in awe and I was probably mirroring her expression.
