Kristie's POV
Today was the final game for Cheney and Chups so I wanted to be there, plus I really wanted to surprise my girlfriend Stephanie McCaffrey.
It was the 46th minute and I saw Steph's number 28 go up in green and Tobin's number go up in red and I look over and saw Steph on the big screen smiling widely as Tobin gave her a hug than ran onto the pitch.
We ended up winning 3-1 with Alex, Crystal and Steph scoring, and honestly I'm so unbelievably proud of Steph being one of only a handful of people who's scored in their first cap.
After the game ended I walked down to the bottom row and I saw Sydney and Sam and they look over to me as I put my index finger to my lips and they nod slowly walking towards me.
Sam jumps the barrier then jumps on me giving me a huge 'Kola Hug'.
"What are you doing here?" she says into the crook of my neck.
"Do you really think I would miss Cheney and Lori's last game?" I ask as we pull away.
"More like you want to see Hoodrat." Syd teases.
"I mean, that's not a bad thing." I say with a sly smirk.
"Well then let's get you to the locker room so can go talk with your girlfriend." Sam says and we all head over to the tunnel to the locker rooms.
"Wait out here then come in on my cue." Sam winks and walks into the USWNT locker room with Syd.
I stand with my ear against the door and hear Sam's soft voice say "Hey Hoodrat, you always know more about my sister than I do so do you know where she is today?"
"Yeah, she's in Boston still. I texted her this morning." she said and I could tell when she talked about our morning texts that she smiled and the team started teasing her.
"That's funny, I thought I saw her in the hall..." Sam says trailing off.
'I guess that's my cue.' I thought to myself and walked into the locker room and see that cute confused face turn to an excited face as she gets up and jumps into my awaiting arms.
"Hey babe," I whisper in her ear. "I saw that goal. I'm so proud of you."
When we pull away I see she has tears in her eyes and all she says is,
"Thank you Kris."
