Goodbye

Ciel's POV

You sighed. You had known all about (F/N)'s plan to see who she loves back ever since the servants requested a ball. You looked towards the door and combed your hand through your blue-gray hair.

"Can you three leave us alone for a while." You spoke softly, avoiding eye contact with anyone. They all blinked at you for a second before nodding and leaving the room, closing the door behind them.

"Ciel, what's wrong?" She asked you, looking up into your eyes. You looked back at her and closed your eyes.

"Listen to what I'm about to say, (F/N). You can't interrupt me or laugh at my words, okay?" You said a little sternly. (F/N) nodded slowly, unsure of where you where going with your conversation. You took a breath and fought back a blush. "I know about your plan with the servants; Finny may have accidentally told me."

Lady (F/N) blushed and widened her eyes.

"I have never been in situations like this before, but I know what to say. I love you, (F/N). I love you so much more than I have ever loved anyone before. I love you so much that I want to hold you and protect you, but that is the one thing I cannot do. I cannot protect you. I am too weak." You steadied your voice and exhaled, looking down at her. You too were blushing. Since you were about to leave, you decided that it was now or never. You took a step forward and held her hands in yours.

You bent down a little and kissed her sweetly. Although it was short, you put all of your emotions into it. (F/N) stood in shock but kissed you back. You ended the kiss and looked into each others eyes, resting your forehead on hers.

"I love you too much to let you be with someone like me, someone who can't even protect you." You stood back and let go of her hands, making your way towards the door. You turned one last time and saw (F/N) with tears forming on her eyes, frozen in shock. "And don't worry, I no longer need to know why you ran away crying... confusion, am I right? I'll see you later, (F/N). I hope you feel better."

And with that, you walked out of the room and closed the door behind you, making your way back to the ball.

Sebastian's POV

As you walked up the stairs to check on Lady Grimm, you passed your Master. He looked as though he had just been rid of all of his emotions again. You were going to ask him if he was alright, but you decided against it, knowing that he was just going to ignore you.

"My Lady? May I come in?" You called through the door, knocking gently. As you were about to reach for the handle, the door opened and a teary (F/N) stood there. She wasn't crying, but tears were just rolling down her face.

"My Lady? What's wrong?" You asked her, getting down on one knee.

"I don't even know, Sebastian." She whispered. You took one of her hands and stood up, leading her back to her bed. Sitting her down, you got onto one knee again and looked her in the eyes.

"Is it... about the plan?" You guessed, tilting your head. (F/N) opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out.

For the first time in years, you felt sorry for a human. You stood up and bent down a little to hug her. She gasped at the sudden contact but soon hugged back.

"My Lady, I have been meaning to talk to you about that matter." You let go of her and stood up. "As I told you in the dance, I have fallen for you. For a Demon to fall in love with a human, the human must have to have something extremely tempting about them, which you do. And this time it is not your soul." You told her. She covered her face with her hand as the other one gripped tightly onto the front of her dress where her heart is.

"You are... beautiful. With both your personality and your looks." You told her as you placed your hands either side of her. She looked up at you as you slowly pushed her back onto the bed. "And now I need you, Lady Grimm. I need to feel the touch of your skin. I need to hold you tight and never let you go, I want you to be mine." You explained. She blushed at the position you were both in. You moved your hand to the side of her head and stroked her face gently with the other.

"However, as a collared Butler, I cannot be by your side. I won't be there for you when you need it most, and so that is why I am saying this now. I love you. I don't just say that as in 'I love cats', I'm saying it as in you are the only one for me. You are the only human I have and will ever share feelings with." You looked into her eyes and smiled slightly.

"I will now say goodbye, My Lady. Even though we will see each other again due to missions from the Queen, I won't be saying such things again as it is highly improper for a Butler to do so. I will go now, my love." You bent down and kissed her on the lips with so much passion and love that your heart nearly burst. One of her hands went into your hair as you both ended the kiss to breathe. You got off her and sat on the bed, helping her up.

"I will be going now. Goodbye, Lady (F/N)." You stood up and bowed to her, before turning and leaving. When you were in the corridor, you tucked a piece of hair behind your ear and sighed. "I need to pet a cat."
