Chapter Thirty-Four
Patience
“Ah... This is the life.” I say as I laid in the spa’s mud bath. Darius and Darien suggested a girl’s day at the spa. They even said that we should take Angelic with us as they thought she needed a girl day too. So here we three sat relaxing in this hour long mud bath leisure time. It’s been a month sense Darius rescued me from Dr. Whitberg. Since then and finding out that I was an oracle, I’ve started a small investigation company to help families and the police whenever they needed help finding someone. I have also been creating new works and actually been asked to display my own pieces in my own gallery showing.
When the galleries went back through their records after reading about what Mark had done, they realized that they needed to find out more. In the end they found me clear of the allegations Mark had told against me. They even filed grievances against him for me. I was told that it was his fault for giving false accusations and not mine. The gallery was doing it in my name.
Targ had connected me and I was happy to find out that he was fixing everything as he was now the leader of his family. Some of my ‘siblings’ actually came to work for my investigation agency. We do both paid and pro-bono work. They liked being able to help and live how they want. Han is even one of those siblings that had came to work for me. His gift really does help finding out if someone is guilty or not about something. The police departments have been very appreciative of our continued work.
The week following the rescue, Darius nearly kept me by his side the whole time. He couldn’t stop touching me with gentle touches. I didn’t mind at all because I was still recovering from dying. Dying! I can’t believe I actually died for some time. He made sure I was comfortable every second. After that week was up, he took me away from the city to a private house just him and me. The house was a chateau in France. FRANCE!
Now that his boss said that he was not on vacation anymore, Darius was working again. For the past week we have been getting used to being separated even for some time. I would get a ride to my own building that Darien helped set up. Darius would drive me on his bike. I would kiss him as he stayed straddled on his bike and he would watch me walk into my building. I would watch him sigh before driving the six blocks down the street to his office.
“Those boys really know how to treat a girl, don’t they?” Angelic said with a smile on her face. Slowly that smile faded. “I wish I knew what was wrong with Parro.”
“He loves you.” I said as I turned my head toward her. “I see it every time he looks at you. You are his sun, moon, stars, and air. You’re everything to him.”
“Then why does he go running off every few days not telling me where he’s going. It’s been like this for months. I don’t know if I can stand it any longer.” She played with the mud that was still on her hands as she had lifted her hand out of her pool. She sighed as she put her hand back under water.
I looked to Angel Kat pleading with my eyes. She smiled and shook her head at me, telling me not to say anything. I frowned at her. “How about this... No more talking about men. It’s just us girls.”
“Here here.” I said with Angelic mumbling it in agreement.
After the mud baths, we had massages and facials. We each had big beefy men kneading our backs, arms, and legs. Not to mention our wings and my tail. Though I have to admit that Darius does it way better. I blushed when his hand worked the base of my tail.
“What does it feel like to have a tail?” Angelic asked with her head turned my way.
“Well... Right now embarrassing, but kind of fun. I like how it can show how I’m feeling.” Then I remembered. “Oh, it comes in handy if I knock something down. Like my easel the other day. The wind blew hard when I was turned away looking for a color. I looked over my shoulder and it was falling. I put my tail up and stopped it from falling any farther.”
“That was lucky.” She commented.
“It sure was.” I yelped when my masseuse's hand slipped and slid between my legs graced my private area.
“Forgive me.” He apologized and I saw a blush on his cheeks. He turned to massage my legs.
We finished our spa day with make-overs and new dresses. Angel Kat was wearing a beautiful midnight blue gown with beadwork around her high waist line. Angelic was wearing a beautiful red halter with silver rhinestones along her high waist line that peaked at the center of her front. My gown was a deep hunter green with smoky grey stones in a starburst style on my front and back.
Angel Kat had said that we were going to have dinner at her place. Darien was making dinner for everyone. We were giggling as we entered her penthouse. Our giggles died as we took in our men. My eyes only saw Darius in his suit with his hair perfectly styled and he shaved too. He looked like a god standing there.
Darius grinned at me as he walked over to me and bowed taking my hand placing a kiss on it. I was only partially aware of Parro doing the same thing to Angelic. Darius rose and pulled me out onto the balcony with Parro doing the same. My eyes stayed on Darius’ smiling face.
Out on the balcony were so many others. Targ with Pana. Han and Diane. Keith and Peter. As well as others. Everyone who is either family to me or someone I care about. But not just my people, but Angelic’s too. Angel Kat and Darien moved to join them as Darius and Parro kept us at the doors.
Slowly with their backs nearly together, Darius and Parro sank to their knees holding our hands. One knee each. Angelic and I looked at each other not knowing but knowing what they were doing. Together as if they were just mirror images of each other, they reached into their pockets and pulled out boxes. But these boxes weren’t ring boxes, they were bigger.
“Patience...” Darius started and then paused.
“Angelic...” Parro said when Darius paused.
“Will you marry me?” They said together while opening their boxes to us. Both Angelic and I mirrored each other too with hands shooting up to cover our mouths. Inside the box Darius held were two special looking arm bands with three delicate chains connecting to rings. I remember drawing them out of fun.
My head moved on its own to nodded. My throat was closed as I watched a brilliant and blinding smile shoot across his face and he proceeded to slip the bracelets and rings on my hands after coaxing the one in front of my mouth away.
“Thank you.” Darius whispered as he kissed me. He smiled with his forehead to mine. “Wait till you see what your wedding ring looks like.” The crowd was cheering and I saw Parro kissing Angelic too.
Darius shifted and wrapped his arms around my waist lifting me up. He twirled around holding me making me laugh and giggle at him. He had total surprised me. I thought maybe Parro had finally managed to get everything together to propose- which he had- but for Darius too as well was a total shock.
The night swirled and morphed with joy and well wishers. One of the photographers from the paper was here. He was taking pictures of everything. I didn’t mind anymore being so public. I was liking it as I didn’t have to hide anything. I loved being so open and Darius knew what to keep a secret. This was definitely something to make public.
Parro had gotten Angelic a beautiful necklace that rested along her collarbone. It was made up of rounded edged small rectangles linked by swirl chain links. Each rectangle was engraved with more swirls. The center rectangle had two diamonds added to the center of the swirls.
The night seemed so perfect and even more when Angelic found out the reason Parro kept leaving was to plan this. She kept apologizing and kissing him for about half an hour. She was so happy that this was the reason. Then she came over and smack Darius’ shoulder when Parro told her that he would have proposed sooner if Darius hadn’t begged to do a joint engagement. I fell back laughing when he went ‘ow’ after she finished. This night was perfection.
