Chapter Twenty-Nine
Targ
I opened my eyes and looked beside me. Parro was gone. “Where did Parro go?”
“Darius’ apartment saying he may have a clue where Patience is.” Angel Kat stated as she had her little girl asleep in her arms.
“Not my clue, but Targ’s.” Parro walked through the open french doors carrying Patience’s sketchbook. He set it on the coffee with Angel Kat coming over. “Targ noticed the staircase she showed him from one of her drawings.” He flipped the cover open and the first picture was how I found Darius. It was in complete detail that it was amazing.
The next was how I was to reassure Darius after he called his friend Darien. Then was Patience’s dream. So dark and dreary. “She is an oracle.” I breathed seeing the staircase in grander detail than the one she showed me in her dream.
The following was a series of pictures. One of them unbinding her. Them running as she fell to her knees on the floor. The door closing as she races to it. The door closed when she reaches it. The final picture is of her screaming and crying through the door with a few of my brothers with their shoulders slumped listening. They look sadden listening to her wanting to be free but trying to ignore her.
Parro turned the page and we all three gasped. “He cannot be serious!” I exclaimed as I rose to my feet furious! I stared at the image of Father forcing himself on Patience. She’s bound and gagged with tears staining her cheeks and the mattress in which he is going to take her. Him ripping her clothes away from her body. A darkness clouding him.
Parro put his hand on my shoulders. “I know how upsetting it is to know that, but we need to stay focused. We don’t know when this is taking place.”
“There’s snow falling out the window in the picture.” Angel Kat said looking at other details other than what was happening in the picture. “The sun is also out.” I took a deep breathe before me and Parro turned back to the picture. “Which means we have some time before this is to occur.”
“Targ. What seven compounds could she be held in?” Parro asked.
“Do you have a map?” Parro shook his head at me while grabbing the laptop Sky handed him. He then handed it to me. “Thanks.” I opened it and use a map program to make out the seven compounds. “I’ll see where there has been snow and if any are about to have a snow fall.” It took me a few minutes to work.
“What’s everyone doing?” Darius asked with a loud yawn. I glanced over to him quickly then back to the screen. He looked so much better. When I turned back, I caught a glimpse of Angel Kat closing Patience’s sketchbook. She must not want Darius to see that future event for Patience.
“We’re in the process of the possible choices they have her with Targ’s help.” Parro said from behind me as I waited for the program to compile the data in both windows. I felt him turn towards Darius. “How are you?”
“Better thanks to Targ.” Did I just hear that? Darius said that he was better thanks to me? Was he warming up to me with that one aid? “How is the search coming?”
“It will take a bit for the computer to finish compiling the data for those seven sites.” I set the laptop down and scrubbed my face as I leaned back. God I was tired, but I cannot sleep just yet. Not knowing when that event is going to occur. I felt hungry and exhausted from the lack of sleep.
“When was the last time you actually slept?” Parro ask.
I yawned. “Thanks for announcing that. Two days if you must know. Even dream-walking isn’t sleep for me. In fact...” Another yawn. “It takes more energy to dream-walk than jogging a mile.”
