Lust could tell something was off. Cas almost always picked up her phone.
"Hey Cas, it's me. I don't know what happened exactly but I need to see you and let you know what's going on. I found a lead, my ex helped me and left. Please call me back."He exhaled loudly after checking his phone multiple times that morning, waking up the black haired woman beside him on the couch.
"What time is it?" Her cracked voice questioned, eyes heavy with sleep.
"Seven," Lust replied, luckily he had gotten through the deal without having sex with Aria. He thanked the gods in heaven she was pleased enough with the makeout session in leui of.... that. They had gone to an abandoned warehouse and she started a spell to track movements of a couple of Dante's henchmen and even found a lead.
The search had taken all night and by the time she was finished Aria stripped naked, saying the only way she slept was naked. Figures.Lust averted his eyes as Aria stretched her arms over her head, exaggerating a loud yawn.
"You're different ya know...." She critiqued him as she slipped on her dress.
Lust looked over his shoulder, giving her a hard glance, "How so?"
She smirked, almost pained by her own words, "You're in love, that's how."His eyes grew wide, but he smiled, silently accepting that truth had been hard to accept himself, but the fluttering in his heart at those words only proved that they were true.
He had fallen in love with Cassidy McBryor. In a matter of a few weeks.
It hadn't been long at all, but as a god he knew this was not like any time before. Like no woman ever before. Cas was......special.
He hoped she would reply to him, he didn't want to lose her after everything they had been through."What's her name?" Aria coyly responded, her one eyebrow arched up in question.
Lust fought back a smile as he said her name, "Cassidy."
Aria blushed, an embarrassed expression crept over her face.
Lust's lips pursed together, his hands clenched tight immediately knowing Cassidy's anger stemmed from something she had done.Lust glared at Aria, a fire bubbling beneath the surface, enough to let Aria know he needed answers.
She timidly spoke, almost non-audible, "She may have called last night and I answered your phone while you were busy."The volcano surged, lava spewed out, and Lust pushed Aria out of his way.
"Thanks for the help, but you will never see me again. You aren't a child who plays games anymore, you're a she-demon who likes to be selfish and try to stick your nose where it doesn't belong. You might have ruined the only thing in this world that matters to me. Rot in hell Aria."He cursed her name, not regretting his harshness one bit. He walked out thankful that he had used her to find the valuable lead, and now all he had to do was gather his brothers and track this henchmen down.
Even better, he would never have to deal with his ex again. But, he had to make things right with Cassidy first.

Her apartnent door hung open as Lust pushed it, an immediate rush of worry overcoming him as he raced up the stairs to her room.
But he sighed a breath of relief as he saw her sprawled across her bed in the most akward yet cute way.
He didn't want to creep but she looked quite peaceful, even if drool dripped down one side of her mouth. He leaned over her, gently pushing her shoulder to wake her up.
Her swollen puffy eyes fluttered open, not focusing on her surroundings until she caught a glimpse of who stood beside her.
Her hand immediately shot up from sleep and planted a big red hand mark on the side of Lust's cheek.Sleep faded away leaving Cassidy a grouchy, angered, hungover mess. She looked rough.
"Start talking, NOW," she spat, still groggy from sleep.
Lust rubbed his cheek but locked onto her golden eyes filled with hate.
He leaned against the wall of her room, cautiously telling his truth."Cassidy McBryor there if there is one thing I would never do to you, it would be to cheat on you. Yes it's true I saw my ex, and yes she answered my phone. But your perception is wrong my dear. And I know we're not technically dating but..,' he placed his hand gently on top of her own, concluding with clear sincerity in his voice, 'I did not have sex with her, nor did I even want to. I used her tracking magic and have found a lead to Dante. I said my goodbyes to her, and hopefully will never have to deal with her again."
"Nothing happened?" She asked, her eyes still red.
Lust sighed, he wasn't going to lie to her. "We kissed, but that's just how her magic works - if something is given, something will be returned."
She looked up at him through her large lashes, her golden eyes releasing the darkness and sizzling the flame, Lust's own eyes softened at her. She still looked disappointed but his heartbeat raced through his veins and he picked up her face between his hands continuing his confession.
"I love you. I love you Cassidy, more than I ever thought possible. I want to be here for you..always."
Her face heated from his words, her eyes sparkled and she kissed his lips lightly before replying, "I just need some time." She embraced him slowly, pulling him in to feel the warmth of his hard body.
Lust loved how Cassidy fit perfectly under his chin, and her arms were long enough to encircle him completely. He loved her softness, and the curves of her body, and the smile she had when she gazed at him.He would never let go.
He looked down, but surprisingly saw tears falling down Cassidy's face. "What's wrong??"
She wiped her eyes, embarrassed by her emotional nature.
"I'm sorry, it's just... after so many years of being single it really hurt to think I had chosen to mess around with someone who was going to....dine and dash as they say.."
"Did you just personify us as a restaurant freeloaders?" Lust half joked, "I hope you don't think we're just messing around now."
She blushed deep red, fumbling with the edge of her skirt avoiding his gaze.
"I want to be....' he paused, bracing himself for the promise he was proposing, 'yours." He finished akwardly, the word so foreign to his ears he almost shivered. She half grinned, relief washing over her countenance. A quiet nod was her reply, although she seemed hesitant. Lust rubbed his hands over her shoulders, easing her nerves.
"I know it's going to be hard. You probably still have a million questions for me, but I promise to try my best, to become a protector for you. A provider. I want you to know how much I really care for you, even if this is my first time doing this kind of thing."Her eyes were shining and seemed to be in an entirely new trance. Forgotten were the troubles they encountered, and even the possibility of future troubles.
All that matter was the confession of the truth, and Lust had never felt more alive.
