Zayn's P.O.V

It was a strange day to be honest, I mean I was pretty shocked that Perrie offered to give me a hand job. And for her first time...she was quite good at it.

We sat in the living room awkwardly, watching reality TV on either ends of the room. There was a knock on the door and I shot up from the couch, hoping it was one of the boys to break the tension in here with a knife.

Perrie followed behind me, being nosy and peering over my shoulder.

A familiar girl around her age barged in the door, her face tear stained and pink from the cold.

"Oh my god I found you," she cried, throwing her arms round Perrie and crying into her shoulder.

"Jade! What...what are you doing here? How did you get here?" she asked, her eyes wide and glassy.

"I smashed the window in our room and climbed down the drainpipe...oh Perrie it was awful the alarm in everything went off and-"

"Slow down Jade, your okay now," she whispered, squeezing her tight and rubbing her shivering shoulders.

I felt out of place and uncomfortable, watching as Perrie's eyes filled with tears.

"What...what if they come back for me?" Jade cried, pulling out of her arms.

She looked at me sadly and chewed her lip, begging me to say something.

"Would you like something to eat or drink Jade?" I asked, Perrie rubbing her temple.

Clearly wasn't what she was looking for.

Jade smiled sadly at me and nodded, wiping her face with the back of my hand. She looked even younger than Perrie, almost like her little sister.

We helped her into the living room in front of the fire, Perrie draping a blanket over her shoulders.

"God Jade, your freezing!" she sighed, warming her hands up and sitting beside her.

I rummaged around in the cupboards and found a jar of unused hot chocolate, dunking marshmallows from last night in each cup. Perrie smiled at me and mouthed thank you over Jade's shoulder, handing the cup of cocoa to her gently.

"I missed you Perrie," Jade whispered, sipping on her hot chocolate and smiling appreciatively.

"I missed you too," Perrie said, rubbing her arm softly.

"Is it okay here?" she asked, looking from me to Perrie, "is he nice to you?"

I blushed and cleared my throat awkwardly, taking a mouthful of my own hot chocolate. To my surprise, she smiled and nodded, her eyes brimming with tears again.

"Yeah, Zayn's cool," she smirked.

I laughed to myself and Perrie giggled, Jade looking at us like she had missed a joke.

I knew that they would come looking for her and I didn't know what I could do when they did. Perrie would never forgive me or herself if they took her back.

"How did you find us?" Perrie asked.

"I looked through the books for you and it had your new address in it," Jade said, looking ashamed for what she had done.

Jade was a quiet timid thing and I could tell Perrie had practically raised her all her life, she looked up to her.

Someone crashed through the door, cursing under their breath and storming into the living room. Jade clung to Perrie, staring up at the grumpy looking woman and shaking.

"Jade! Thank goodness we found you" she said falsely.

"Don't act like you give a shit!" Perrie screamed at her, holding Jade tightly in her arms.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that Perrie!" the woman said, pointing her boney little finger in her face.

"I don't belong to you anymore I can do whatever I want!" she cried, standing up to her as more POG staff filed in.

I stood in front of the girls as they stepped closer, like vultures desperate to prey on poor Jade. They were in tears by this point, clinging to each other for safety.

"Come on Jade, you need to go back," the woman said, pulling her by the arm.

"Please don't let them take me," she cried.

Perrie couldn't hold onto her much longer, the staff pulling her to her feet.

They ushered Jade towards the door, holding her by the elbows securely.

"Do something!" Perrie shouted, thumping me hard in the chest.

I stood still as she hit me, tears steaming down her face as Jade called her name. I clasped her wrists in my hands and pulled her towards me, wrapping my arms round her and stroking her hair gently. Her hands squeezed the shirt on my back, a wet patch seeping through my skin.

"Jade..." she whispered, pushing away from me and sprinting outside.

They were hauling Jade into a van as she threw her arms round her, whispering something in her ear. I watched them embrace from the window before the van drove off, Perrie sinking to her knees as it disappeared in the distance...
