Yes, they messed up Iroh, too. Sigh. Can't this movie do anything right?

Apparently not.

As you most likely know, Iroh is the uncle and firebending mentor of Zuko. He accompanied Zuko on his quest to capture the Avatar and was pretty much the only person who stood by him during his banishment. Iroh, in the show, is the wonderful, tea-loving old guy that we all love. He is kind, relaxed and a great balance to Zuko's urgent nature throughout the show. One of the things I love about the real Iroh is that he is very wise and usually has some proverb to say though no one really understands them, especially Zuko.

The movie Iroh had none of this amazing character. He was just this serious, boring guy that followed Zuko on his quest and didn't add any of the humor that the real Iroh brought. In the first episode of the show, Zuko tells Iroh that he saw a beam of light that may be the Avatar and Iroh nonchalantly says it may only be the celestial lights, since they were in the South Pole.

There was none of that in the movie.

Oh! Guess what???? Aang and Sokka were not the only characters with butchered names. Yes, they messed up Iroh's name. Instead of saying it Eye-roh. They called him Eee-roh! Like in sleep or creep. When I heard his horrible pronunciation, I actually had to rewind the movie to make sure I heard correctly.

I truly think I lost a brain cell every time this movie killed a name. I think my IQ dropped or something.

Another thing I hated was that we did not see the beautiful Zuko and Iroh relationship AT ALL. Remember in the movie when Zuko was going to sneak into the North Pole to find Aang and Iroh kept saying things like, "Make sure you stay warm!" and "Be careful!" Awww, I thought that was so cute! Iroh really cared for Zuko as his own son, especially after losing his own to the war.

And this scene?

Yeah, this is from the 3rd season, but the best representation of the relationship they had
