Roderick wasn't sure how he was going to put his plan in motion, but he knew that Elizabeth deserved better than the life she was being forced to live. His poor choices from his youth were haunting them every day and while he felt like it was his own punishment to serve, it wasn't fair to drag Elizabeth down with him. He needed to get her out of it as she needed her freedom beyond anything.

During most mornings, Roderick would wake up and normally find Elizabeth somewhere in the manor, reading over several books that were sprawled out in front of her. All of them pertained to healing and many of times, he could hear her muttering the incantations under her breathing, working to place them all in her memory. Of course, she didn't have much to practice with, so she could only work on increasing her memory and knowledge before putting it to practical use. And while she seemed happy during those times and quite determined to learn it all, it pained Roderick more than anything to see her study and work so hard. Mainly because of their current situation, her chances of becoming a Healer were incredibly low.

Elizabeth's family didn't agree with her becoming a Healer, not due to the fact that they believed she didn't have the mind or skill for it, but because they allowed their prejudice views to get in the way of her dreams. They believed that she would end up having to serve those that they didn't care for, such as Muggle-borns or those they had deemed blood-traitors. It was utterly ridiculous the more he thought about it, simply because Elizabeth was being held back from her dreams because of her family, and that only left him completely upset.

However, Roderick had grown tired of Elizabeth being limited by her family and he was planning on allowing his wife to pursue her dream, even if it killed him in the process of achieving it. The problem lied with the two escaping their families, along with the Dark Lord and his followers. Roderick had become an important asset over the years to the Dark Lord as he was one to steal valuable information from the Order within his crow form. But it was not only the information of the Order that made him valuable, it was his knowledge of what took place behind the doors of the headquarters of the Death Eaters.

If he posed any risk to leaking any information to the other side, the Dark Lord would come after him and everything he held near and dear, which meant Elizabeth.

But Roderick wasn't stupid though, he followed the Dark Lord's instructions of spying, however, he didn't relay as much information as he could have, withholding plenty that could have led to a devastating attack on the Order. So far, no one seemed suspicious as he made his weekly reports.

Or, so he thought.

It was one particular morning that Roderick woke in the earlier morning hours, much to his own surprise. The night before he had gone to bed, thinking he would do something nice for Elizabeth, such as make her breakfast and bring it to her in bed. Yet, as he sat up in bed, he saw that she was already up for the day as her side was empty.

He climbed out of bed and expected to find her working away in one of the areas of the home. Yet, as he called out her name and asked how she would like her eggs, he was met with no response. He stood still for a few minutes in the hall, calling out her name again and only feeling the worry settle in when he was only greet with silence once more. Elizabeth had made no mention of her going out for the day, normally she didn't go out anywhere alone if she could help it. But even so, she normally disclosed where she was going and how long she would be gone so that Roderick didn't worry.
