Imogen woke up with her two braids a mess. She had fallen asleep texting Eli. She grabbed her phone to see if he ever texted back. “Imogen! Breakfast is ready!” Imogen’s dad yelled from the banister.
“Coming!” she flicked her phone on her bed and ran downstairs. She knew her dad was impatient. “Good morning my loving parents.” Imogen smiled hugging both of them before taking a seat.
“Someone seems happy today.” her mom poured a cup of coffee. “Hot date?” she joked.
“No, nope, nuh uh, just really excited for the movie night tonight.” Imogen smiled nervously hoping her parents wouldn’t see that she was lying.
“You know, Imogen, I’m happy you’re finally making friends. So do we get to meet them anytime soon or are they made up in your mind?” her dad joked grabbing the orange juice.
“Actually I’ve made a few friends in Drama, I’m even thinking of auditioning for the school play.” Imogen smiled. Both her parents dropped their silverware in disgust.
“Imogen, this…acting thing was cute when you were like five and six but you’re like seventeen now.” Her dad put his hand on hers. “It’s time you give that dream up and find something more…useful.”
Imogen looked appalled. “Mom you don’t agree do you?” Her mom avoided the question shooting her an apologetic look. “Well then, I see my dreams mean nothing to you.” she got up and ran to her room locking the door.

“So let me get this straight…you’re going to movie night with Sadie and Alli?” Adam looked at Dave confused.
“No, no, no man, you got it all wrong. You understand right Eli?” Dave turned to Eli hoping he’d understand him.
“Honestly, no.”
“Alright so I’m going with Sadie and I’ll make my choice there.” Dave smiled thinking his plan was bulletproof.
“Now I kinda wanna miss the concert tonight so I can see your plan utterly fail.” Adam laughed nudging Eli. Eli made a tense smile and went back to his phone. Imogen had texted him about what happened to her this morning at breakfast. It kind of upset him.
“I’m actually suppose to be meeting Alli right now. She should be here in a few. You know to discuss some last minute movie night details.” Dave winked at Adam and Eli. “Yo, Eli you know it’s rude to text when you’re chillin with your bros.”
“Dave, I barely know you.” Eli looked up from his phone and then went back down.
“Dude.” Adam nudged him. Eli sighed and put his phone in his pocket. Adam smiled and turned his head towards the Dot entrance. “Hey there’s Alli” Adam pointed over to the girl wearing a pink skirt and white fitted tee.
“Damn.” Dave turned and faced her. “She looks good in everything.” Adam and Eli chuckled.
“Hey Dave,” Alli said friendly. She turned to Adam and Eli shocked. “Oh, Adam, Eli, you’re here…I didn’t know that.”
“Heh, problem Bhandari?” Adam friendly winked.
“No it’s just—”
“ALLI! How could you leave me at the boutique across the street?” Clare walked in disgusted. “Here’s your bag by the way.” she tossed Alli her bag ignoring her signaling that Eli was there.
“Hey Clare.” Adam nodded his head sipping his pop. Clare turned around shocked.
“Adam! Eli! Hi.” Clare looked flustered.
