Chapter 6: Purple Twins

"Köleil? Ham or cheese?"

"Both!"

"Uh...are you sure?"

"Yes, yes, yes!"

"Well...okay then..."
I chuckled, balancing all three pans at once.
Cooking omelettes one at a time was for wimps.
Also, I couldn't be bothered.

Jake and Köleil sat at the table, eagerly awaiting their breakfast. Honestly, you'd think I was their mother or something!

"Alright...Jake?"

"Just plain. Thanks."
He mumbled in his usual, monotone voice.

After all the action of last year, Jake had seemed to slowly fall back into his old crappy, emo self.
But I didn't care.
He was still Jake to me.

Even if after all this time, I still can't tell him how I feel...I'm sure I will one day.
Köleil stayed as adorable and child-like as ever.

After understanding her duties as the Eclipse, she'd managed to create a more serious side for when she needed it.
But at times like these...

"Hey Jake, where do eggs come from?"
She asked, her legs swinging beneath the table.

"Chicken butts."

"Wait, what?! Eww! Nim, I don't think I want eggs for breakfast anymore..."

"Don't worry Köleil. Jake's just being silly. They grow from eggplants, like I told you before."

"Oh...okay then!"
She gleamed.

It was like nothing had ever changed.

True, she wasn't quite as kiddy around James, but I'm pretty sure that's just because she wants to impress him.

Köleil was far more powerful than she'd ever let on. Almost everyone who met her just saw her as some dumb, childish little girl.
But once they saw her fight...

She'd also remade everyone's crystals!
After this, we thought we had a real advantage.
Surely, she could make more Guardians with this ability? New ones?

Well...not quite.

Köleil spent almost a month forming a beautiful, new, purple crystal.
But something went wrong.

The crystal was cracked.

The Guardian that formed had split in two, a boy and a girl, twins.
And that was most certainly not natural for a Guardian.
This meant only one got the powers and the other got the skill and talent.
They couldn't speak English for a while too.

Don't get me wrong, they're great people. I think...
Truly, they're not very social.

Being formed from one crystal, they both linked to the same Warrior.
A baby.

I can't go into detail about what happened since it's none of my business but...the baby didn't exactly have...good parents.
After staying for a while, the twins took the baby away and raised her all on their own.
The baby was called Susan and the twins are Tsu and Tsuki.
Tsu being the boy and Tsuki being the girl.

They went off and lived in Kakadelia, meaning in the simple year they've been gone, the baby had grown to be around nine years of age back in this world!

Kakadelia's time was different, slower...or maybe faster.
I don't know.
But this didn't make a difference to Tsu and Tsuki.

However, recently they came back.
They live up in the attic now and rarely come down.
The only one I ever see constantly is Susan and still, she only comes down at night.
We've spoken a few times. She's a sweet, polite young girl.
Though she's said she gets bullied at school often for her cloak.
