"Uh...sparks?"
"Yeah. Like, white sparks coming from her fingers."
"Actually...I thought I did yesterday...but I assumed I was imagining it."
Jake frowned."So...it's not normal for them? Guardians, I mean."
"Not as far as I know."
"Oh...well, maybe it's nothing. I was just curious."
I stared up at the window as Jake and Static rambled on.
How weird..."Guys! Dinner's ready!"
Nim called up.They both got to their feet and headed to the door but quickly noticed I wasn't following.
"James? You coming?"
"Yeah...just...give me a minute. I'll meet you down there."
I waited until they were both gone and I could no longer hear their footsteps before jumping up and pulling the window open.
"What on earth are you doing?"
Blank stared back at me, gently bobbing up and down as she levitated high above the ground outside the window.
"...do you...want to come in?"
"You want me to?"
"...um...I guess. It's better than out there."
I murmured, taken aback as she slid inside and let her feet touch the ground.
She faced away from me, bending down as she examined my desk."So...what's up?"
"Many things. The ceiling, the sun, the sky, clouds, the-"
"No, no, I meant...why did you come here?"
"You would prefer if I had not? Am I unwelcome in this particular area of the building?"
"No, I just...argh..."
I grumbled, slumping down on my bed.
This girl was impossible."Jasper has shut down and is recharging. It is necessary every now and then."
"Um...okay?"
"You were the only others on this floor. But I see your companions left."
"...you're talking differently..."
"I am?"
She turned."Yeah...you used to say your name instead of I. Köleil used to as well."
"My speech changes regularly."
"It...does?"
"Though that would depend on what language I am set upon. I know every language."
I didn't know what to say.
How was I supposed to reply to this girl?!"Have you...spoken to Static a lot?"
"I suppose. Why?"
"...I am just...curious as to what she has told you...may I ask, what are your opinions on her?"
"...what?"
"In detail, please."
I leaned back a little, rubbing my head.
"I don't know...she's pretty annoying when you first meet her. But I guess it's just the fact she's never really been around people. She's nice deep down."
