"...what is it with you and woods?"

"Hey, don't be like that. Nature is awesome."

"You know that's not what I meant."

Eventually, we came out into an opening.

A lake.

Surrounded by the trees, it glowed in the moonlight. With solemn rays reflecting through and off its surface as if heeding the dark skys call.

Though there was no breeze, its waters rippled and danced with elegance from side to side.

Static let her feet softly hit the grass before slowly walking to its edge and crouching down.

"...what is this place?"
I asked, almost in a whisper.

"It's called Jaaî lake. Nobody knows of its existence. Well, besides me and now you, of course."

"And...your sister...she lives around here?"

"She's down there...somewhere..."
Static mused, still staring down into the deep, deep lake of liquid silver.

"Under the...water?"
I raised an eyebrow with a smirk, assuming she was joking.

"Beneath all water, the light one lies. Beneath the bed where good things die."
She chimed, letting her fingers break the waters surface.
"Lakes and oceans, in all she'll be. Lakes and oceans, all you see."

"...at the same time?"
I really wasn't getting all the fancy poetry.

"Secluded in blue, in her own exile. Excluded from who, one who never smiles. Forever alone, for years long and gone. Exiled from life, that brave little one. So down in the deeps, deep down she once sank. Into the blue went the young child named..."
Static seemed to snap back into reality and turned to me, smiling.

"She lives under all water. I just have to summon her so she can rise from this specific spot."

"...oh...okay...so, how do we do that?"

She stood up and beckoned me toward her to stand by the edge.

"Y'know...me and my sister haven't spoken in a very long time. And last time we did...it didn't go too well..."

"What do you mean? Did something happen?"

"I may have told her she's pointless...and...abandoned her...and...made her cry..."

"...look, all sisters argue. I'm sure you guys will be fine."

Static took a deep breath and faced the water again.
"...I just hope she'll forgive me. For everything."

She then raised her hand as if ready to send out a powerful force.
But hesitated.

Lowering her arm slightly, she closed her eyes.

"...have you ever had that feeling...of complete isolation? A loneliness so dark and hollow that each beat of your heart becomes more and more distant?"

"I think everyone has. It's nothing to be afraid of."

"...well...I've grown so used to that feeling...that meeting you again wasn't too different. But this...she's family...someone I've known since I knew myself. I don't know if I can..."

"She's your sister. You need each other."

With a final, long breath, Static raised her arm once more and stared into the center of the lake with a sharp look.
