"I don't think she can hear me..."
I tried shouting louder but it did nothing.
She wouldn't move.Köleil wore a dark purple dress, with a lilac chest and long sleeves
On her hands I saw...bandages?
On her legs as well...Heck, I could even see some around her neck.
Why would she be wearing bandages?
"Jake...I think she might be hurt. She's got bandages on..."
Not even looking back at me, Jake just sighed.
"...she's a smart girl. I should have thought of that.""Sh-she's not gonna jump, is she?!"
I panicked."Don't be stupid. She'd heal anyway."
"Oh...right..."
I called out her name again but Jake just grabbed my arm.
"She's deaf, you moron! Don't you remember?"
"Shit, right. Sorry, I'm just panicking!"
"Well don't! That's just going to make the situation worse!"
He growled, pushing me away.Blank stared ahead, watching Köleil with that familiar empty gaze.
She looked so... thoughtful.I looked back up at Jake who had both hands up against the shield and his eyes closed with an expression showing nothing but pure concentration.
Blank smiled.
"Ah. He's a smart kid.""What?"
I frowned at her, hoping she'd explain.Though it didn't take me long to notice Jake's hands slowly moving, melting through the shield.
It was quite beautiful. The sparks of blue surrounded him and the shield began to look more like blue tinted glass as it melted away, only around Jake's figure.
With one last, desperate push, Jake fell through the shield, landing harshly on his knees.
He took a moment to catch his breath after using such a high amount of energy but quickly made his way over to Köleil.
Gently, he held her shoulders and turned her to face him.
He gave her a small, soothing smile before she looked across the land once more.
"Jake...where is the horizon?"
"It's...it's still there..."
He assured."No. Look. It is not. For Köleil it is only dark shadows."
Jake's eyes filled with pity as he sighed.
"...oh, Kö..."But I thought she was deaf?
How was she responding to him?!Blank must have seen my confused expression as she sighed.
"He broke her shield, silly.""What?"
"That wasn't just a normal shield. It was blue. You're a Warrior, you should know these things."
"Well, I-I don't so will you just tell me, please?"
"A blue shield isn't cast. It is a natural reaction when a Guardian emotionally disconnects. And Jake broke it."
"...sooooo?"
"So now, he can reach through the Darkness on her. He can get through to her. Only because he is dark too though."
"Um...okay?"
