-James-

Static and Blank were in a different room, supposedly talking about something private or simply catching up after not seeing each other for so long.
Whereas me Jasper and I sat in awkward silence inside the room with the walls missing and the moon shining inside.

She sat right at the edge, staring up at the moon as I stayed in the chair, by the desk.

And I watched her.
Not in a creepy way of course, more out of curiosity.
Was it really possible to put someone living, someone with thoughts and feelings...into a metal body?
How did it work?
How did she breathe?
Could she breathe?
Could she feel?
Did she bleed?

Ugh...that sounded creepy, forget that one.

And what kind of life did she live before it happened?
Did she have friends?

All these questions swam around in my mind as I watched her sit silently.
A chilling, cold draft blew into the room and she shivered. It was only then that I realised she was still only wearing bandages.
She looked wrapped up, like a present.
It was kind of cute.

Her hair fell down, just over her shoulders, surprisingly clean and well kept.
Since the body was robot, I suppose it wouldn't get dirty anyway...

But...how long had she been shut down? Sat in the corner of an old, dirty, damn, abandoned lab...

Blank stepped inside.
"Jasper, we have your clothes."

"Is she borrowing some of Static's then?"
I asked as Jasper stood up.

"No. We returned to the lab and collected Jasper's usual wear."

"You went back?! But it's only been a few minutes!"

"We can move a lot faster without you. Your body would break, ours doesn't."

"...oh...okay..."

"Now come, Jasper. We will tidy you up. James must stay here. We won't be long."

"...alright."

Just like that, I was left alone again.

Great.

Though she hadn't lied, they really weren't long at all. A few minutes at most.
And I'll admit, Jasper definitely looked better like this...

Her dress was copper/maroon with two orange streaks running down the front. Tight to the waist then flaring out to her knees. Blank had also tied her hair into loose pigtails that trailed over her shoulders.
It suited her.

"Alright. Now you two rest. We will not be much longer."
Blank waved before shutting the door.

Jasper exhaled, looking up and smiling at me.
"Hello, master James."

"Uh...hi?"

She sat down, cross-legged in front of me.
"So...Static and Blank...many years ago-"

RING RING

My phone rang loudly, catching both me and Jasper off guard.

"Uh...one moment, Jasper. Sorry."

I accepted the call and raised the phone up to my ear.
"...hello?"

"James, you need to get over here. Now."
Nim's voice spoke, scarily serious.

"But, I'm just-"

"Now...please..."

"Nim, what's wrong?"

"It's...It's Charlie..."

"The kid? What's up with him?"
