"Really? She's still here?"
Static smiled, crouching down in front of the motionless figure while Blank hugged it tightly. It was...weird. She looked like a perfectly normal girl.
But she just sat there, knees up against her chest and arms lay down on the floor with her eyes closed.
There was no breathing, no reaction, no movement.
At all."Blank, do you remember how to..."
Blank reached around the still girls neck and...something...clicked?
Her eyes slid open in a strangely slick way yet she was still frozen.
Static noticed my expression and laughed.
"She's a robot, dummy.""W-what-"
"I am not a robot!"
The girl snapped, glaring at Static."Well, your body is robot. Better?"
"I suppose..."
She turned and looked away, frowning."James, this is Jasper an old friend of ours."
Static explained."Jasper? I thought that was a boys name?"
"Well, I didn't choose it, did I?!"
The robot stressed."Jasper, relax."
Blank soothed, tucking Jasper's loose hair behind her ear.
"Your name is beautiful. We know you are not a robot in mind. You are still you."
She leaned forward, politely stroking Jasper's hair back as it fell past her shoulder.Jasper wasn't exactly...dressed. All that covered her were silky, white bandages that only just hid her indecent areas.
And the way she was placed...
It was like she'd been left there on purpose."...I'll leave you two to sort things out. Come on James. Let's go somewhere more interesting."
Static lead me into the next room and shut the door behind us, letting out a long breath."Jeeze...I'd completely forgotten about Jasper..."
"Look, I'm really confused right now. So she's a robot?"
"She's in the body of a robot. Though she still has all her old memories and her own mind."
"How is that possible? Did she used to be a human?"
"She used to be a Guardian."
My jaw dropped slightly.
"Are you...are you kidding?""Nope. She was the orange Darïaûs."
"That's...wow..."
Static crossed her arms, turning away from me with a serious expression.
"The doctor kidnapped her, tore her from the very arms of the other Guardians. They tried to save her, but he knew everything about them and had prepared in every way. It...wasn't a very nice experience for her, to say the least. He kept her tied up down here for weeks, waiting until he could perfectly recreate her body.""That's...sick..."
"Isn't it?"
"But...how did he put her into that? I'm pretty sure that's impossible."
"He was a smart, smart man. Messing with beings, all kinds of creatures, in ways no human ever should. In the end, he transfered her soul through to the inanimate sack of metal and Jasper was born. She's been here ever since. I suppose it was to preserve her since she was already dying...but it still seems wrong..."
