-James-

"Uh...hey, Jake?"

"Hm?"

"Do you mind if I...brought a friend along?"
I asked.

Jake paused, closing the tear he'd just opened.
"Everyone'll be back home now. They're all busy."

"No, it's someone you don't know. It's just, she's always really useful...so..."

"Fine. Sure. Where's she live?"
Jake sighed, shoving his hands in his jacket.

"Oh, hang on, I'll just..."
I pulled the locket from my pocket (rhyming skills) and clicked it open.

"Yo, what's up, kid?"
Static grinned, floating upsidedown in the air right infront of my face.
Blank and Jasper stood awkwardly beside me.

"Uh...hi. Would you mind coming somewhere with me today? We've got work to do so I'd really appreciate your company."

"Sure thing. Blank, Jasper, you guys can head back. I'll be gone for-"

"No, no. Please, if you're associated with James you must come with the rest of us. For your safety. There's plenty of rooms and you'll be welcome to stay."
Jake butted in, stepping up to Jasper and Blank.

"...Blank does not know...what reason would we have to relocate?"

"It's not safe at the minute. Please, just head inside and find the girl with blue hair. Tell her Jake sent you and she'll sort out everything. We'll keep you safe."

"You'll keep us safe?"
Static scoffed.
"Honestly, if anything, it'd be the other way around, hon."

"I'm simply making an offer."
Jake frowned.

Blank thought for a moment then nodded.
"Okay. We will join you. Come Jasper..."
They both went off inside, leaving me, Static and Jake in slightly uncomfortable silence.

Slowly, Static moved back down to the ground.
"So, where we headed?"

"Kakadelia first. We'll talk with the Queen and she can spread the word there. Come on."
Jake said sternly, tearing a portal new portal since the other had closed and stepped through.

"...alrighty then..."

As we walked up to the castle, I explained what was going on to Static.

"And that's the guy who killed the kid?"

"Yeah...he's dangerous. We're preparing as much as we can. After last year, we're taking no risks."

"Last year?"

"When we defeated Jūx."

"Oh, that was you guys? Huh...I knew I recognised you from somewhere!"
She gleamed, patting Jake on the back.

"What are you talking about? You weren't there."
He glared.

"Oh, I'm everywhere, kid."

"...don't call me that."

"What? Kid?"

"Cut the attitude with me. Or it won't end well."
Jake threatened, clenching his fists.

"Oh, big man's gonna fight an innocent, sweet lady. How noble!"
