"The overhead can go here. Where are the Manila folders?" I asked.
"Here..." He handed them to me. I took them looking through the list.
"Hmm...I think we could do little bowls of peanuts spread out on the table with those flavored marshmallows?"
"Sounds good. Maybe a pitcher of lemon water and glasses?"
"Yeah. I'll get on it..."
"I'll set up the chairs" I left the room and went down to the lounge. Fresh lemons, peanuts, little minty marshmallows, everything we needed. I gathered it in the fridge for the real meeting tomorrow to make sure nobody would take it. I left the lounge running into mr.collins.
"Amber! How's it coming along?"
"Fine, we are about ready. When does it start sir?"
"Around noon. Ryan is a great businessman."
"Why do you say that?"
"He planned the meeting. I guess he really enjoys working with you. May I ask, how your relationship is going?"
Ryan planned this? After I told him so many times I wanted away? He wanted this? His scheme. His lie. I can't believe this.
"Mr.Collins, me and Ryan aren't dating anymore..."
"That's a shame. Can I ask why?"
"It just wasn't working. But, next time, can you please maybe not pair me with him? I'm trying to stay away."
"Of course. But it was his suggestion, to have you help. He said your relationship was going great!"
Oh my gosh.
"When did he plan this?"
"Yesterday morning." He took a sip of his coffee.
"Guess you guys aren't doing so well huh? Ha, me and my wife seem to--" I (very rudely) left the room and ran up the stairs (which was hard in heels) to the meeting room. I ran into the room. Bursting the door open.
"What the hell? This was YOUR idea Ryan? You're insane! I told you I didn't want to be In a relationship. There's no hope for us in the future because you won't let it go. We aren't dating. We won't for a long time. Have fun setting this up. ALONE." I yelled. He came towards me, acting like it never happened. I pushed him back against the table and slammed the door shut. What have I gotten myself into?
