We Meet Again - Kylo Ren and Rey

Rematch and Revenge

The village on the island of Ahch-to 

Rey stood at the edge of the cliff, looking out across the ocean. She lost herself in thought, admiring the cool breeze tugging at her tunic after so long of the scorching heat of Jakku. The vast, endless blue relaxed her as she meditated on Master Luke's teaching. She struggled to keep her mind clear, as per his instruction. She became lost in her mind again, only to be jolted out of her fantasy and back to reality by the all-too-familiar sound of the hissing and sputtering of Kylo Ren's infamous lightsaber.

Rey gasped and whirled around, reaching for Luke's old lightsaber clipped to her belt. So he had discovered where Luke was hiding. How had he gotten here without her noticing? 

She stumbled backward, igniting her blade. Kylo Ren stood before her, but this time, he was not alone. Six masked men, clothed in black, stood behind Kylo Ren. Rey recognized the men as the Knights of Ren, of which she knew that Kylo was the leader. Ren advanced towards Rey, the light of his red saber reflecting off the silver accents of his helmet. He reached up and with one hand removed his helmet. He threw it to the ground beside him. A long scar marred his face, stretching from the left side of his forehead, across his nose, and down past his right cheek. Rey had given it to him during their last encounter.  Rey stiffened, hiding the emotions from her face.

"Look what you've done, Rey," he spat. His face contorted into a snarl as he said her name. Rey did not flinch.

"I only gave you that which monsters like you deserve," she retorted. Ren only smirked.
Walking closer to Rey, he said quietly, "I wouldn't dare ruin that pretty face of yours. It would have been nice if you had thought the same about me." Kylo's focus shifted to the ground, then back up at Rey. "In the forest...I let you win." He paused for a moment before saying with steel in his voice, "Maybe this time I won't be so generous."

Rey looked around frantically. She eyed Master Luke standing in the doorway of one of the huts. He watched the scene, his face indifferent. Would he not come and help?

Rey looked back at Kylo Ren, walking closer and closer to her by the second. Rey raised her lightsaber as Ren raised his, the blue blade gleaming in the midday sun.

"Ben!" Master Luke stepped out of his hut. Kylo Ren growled, halting in his tracks.

"I no longer answer to that name." 

Luke walked slowly towards Ren. Ren turned his head towards him, examining him. He then motioned to the six men behind him and they began advancing towards Luke. He drew his lightsaber hilt and ignited the green blade.

Kylo Ren turned back to Rey. 

"You won't escape this time, not after my Knights are through with the old man, and you...are begging for mercy at the hands of my lightsaber." 

Rey only took a defensive stance with her saber at the ready. The Knights of Ren ignited their red blades and approached Luke. They began to take turns lunging at Luke with their blades, attempting to get past his nearly perfected defenses after years of practice.

Kylo Ren let go of a battle cry as he ran towards Rey, snapping her back to her senses. Rey raised her blade just in time to absorb the power of Ren's attack, nearly knocking her over. Rey stumbled back to position, only to be met with his blade once again. 

He's gotten stronger, she thought. Snoke has been training him. Master Luke has only been teaching me the ways of the force...why hasn't he taught me lightsaber combat?! 

Rey fumed with anger, pushing Kylo Ren's locked lightsaber off of hers. She beat away his flurry of quick attacks with her blade. She tried several times to stab at his chest, each time Kylo blocking them with enormous power. She swung at his left side, but before she knew it his blade twisted around hers and flung it out of her grasp.

Ren smirked. Rey panicked and hurriedly stumbled backward, unknowingly at the very edge of the precipice. Her foot caught on a rock and Ren's smile faded. The emotion on Rey's face turned into one of fear as she slipped.
