Chapter 8

(Tamar POV)

"What do you mean she's already in a foster home?" I asked angrily. "It was only one day!!" I screamed and Toni put her hand on my thigh and mouthed 'calm down'. I took a deep breathe.

"Okay sir. Are we still going to be allowed to adopt her." I asked calmly and he nodded his head yes.  "Great so what do we have to do" Trina asked.

"You'll have to go to Colorado to the foster home that she's at." He said. "What foster home?" Toni asked. He clicked away at his computer.

"General state foster home for girls" he said. "So we just go and get her?" I asked. "Yes you can just walk in and say hey where's Sierra and the workers will just give her to you and you live happily ever after" he said sarcastically. I turned to Toni. "Who the hell is he talking too" I said getting angry.

"Sir that was very uncalled for. I just asked you a simple question" I said. "I apologize it was a joke" he said. "Well I'm not in the damn mood for jokes" I yelled. "Tamar let's go" Towanda said taking me out of the room.

"Calm down Tamar. Your gonna scare the man" Towanda said. "Ain't no calm down that was highly disrespectful. Making jokes when this is a serious moment" I said rolling my eyes.

"Just stay calm Tamar" she said and we went back into the room where everyone was.

"Like I said I'm very sorry Ms Braxton" he said sympathetically. "It's fine" I said in a dull tone.

"So please tell us what we have to do when we get there" Toni said sounding frustrated. Good I'm glad I'm not the only one who's annoyed.

"When you get there they will ask you why your there. You'll have to go through tons of paper work to actually adopt her" he said. "And how long is that going to take" Traci asked.

"It can be up to a couple of days. Maybe 2 or 3" he said and my eyes got huge. "Why so long" I asked.

"The whole process takes a lot of time. But sometimes it can go quicker but all you have to do is go there and let it play out." He said and I nodded my head.

"Okay thanks officer Rodriguez" Toni said and we all left.

"That wasn't so bad" Toni said and I gave her a blank stare. "What?" She laughed knowing what I was thinking. "Tamar you was coming at him hard" Trina laughed.

"Really? No i wasn't he didn't have to be that sarcastic" I said opening the door to leave out the police station. We were now walking to the car.

"I thought Tamar was gonna slap the man" Traci said and everyone laughed including me. "I'm not that bad you guys" I said. "We don't call you monster for nothing" Towanda said.

We all got into the car. "So who's going to Colorado with me to get her?" Toni asked.

"I have to get home to my kids" Towanda said.

"And I have a meeting at Bar Chix tomorrow afternoon" Trina said. (For those who don't know Bar Chix is Trina's restaurant/bar)

"I have a interview with 99 jamz tomorrow" Traci said.

Everyone looked at me. "Um.. I gotta um get to Logan. You know how he is when he haven't seen me in a while" I lied.

"Tamar please. You know mommy and Vince has Logan" Toni said and I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Okay I'll go". I said

"Wait. Speaking of mommy and Vince" Trina said. "We haven't told anyone we were gonna do this" she added and we all sighed.

"What do y'all think they'll say" Toni asked.

"I'm sure Vince wouldn't mind" I said. "And Logan would like someone to play with."

"And my husband and kids won't mind either" Towanda said. "Same here" Trina said. "The uh kids part" she said and everyone laughed knowing Trina doesn't have a husband. Anymore for say. "Traci what about you?" I asked.

"I think everyone will be cool with it." She said.

"And diezel and denim wouldn't mind they always wanted like a little sister" Toni said.

"Okay so now we have to call mommy" I said and everyone looked down.

"Okay me and Toni are going to Colorado so that means one of y'all has to call mommy" I said to Towanda Trina and Traci.

"What!?! That is so not fair" Trina said and I smirked.

"Fine I'll call" Towanda said picking up her phone.

"Hi mommy" Towanda said

"Hey mommy" the rest of us said in Union.

"Hey girls. What's up?" She asked and everyone got quiet.

I kicked Towanda. "Oh um mommy" she said nervously.

"Yes?" Mommy replied. "So uh the girls and I met this little girl who doesn't have a family and she um" Towanda stopped. "I don't know what to say" she whispered and I grabbed the phone.

"Hey mommy" I said. "Tamar? What's going on" she asked. *pops lip* "so mommy we met this girl and..wewasthinkingaboutadoptingher" I said fast and looked at Toni who had this wtf face on. I shrugged my shoulders.

"Huh?" Mommy asked. "Give me the phone" Toni said.

"Hi mommy" Toni said "y'all better tell me what's going on now" she said getting frustrated.

"Okay mommy we met this sweet little girl who has no family or no where to go. And we was just wondering if we can adopt her" Toni said looking nervous.

"Why are you asking me" mommy said. "Well we just wanted to get your input" Toni said.

"I think that's a great idea. As long as you guys promise to take good care of her." She said and we smiled. "We will mommy." Toni said.

"So when do you adopt her?" Mommy asked.

"Well me and Tamar have to go to Colorado to get her from a foster home." Said Toni.

"Okay. You girls be careful. Love you all" mommy said.

"Love you too mommy" we said together and hung up the phone.

"See that wasn't so bad" Toni said.

"Toni what's up with you and saying that. It would have been better if ms Towanda would of stuck to it" I said. "Hey!! I was nervous" she said. "And your no one to talk miss saying words fast so no one can understand you" she said. "Shut up" I laughed.

"Okay so we're going to head to the airport and me and Tamar are going to buy a ticket to Colorado" Toni said and we all nodded our heads and headed to the airport.
