Family reunions. Since Angelica and Eliza were both married to two great men (in different ways obviously) and Peggy was the last one to get married, she hated them. Normally her farther was calm but protective over his daughters but now he always asked her when she's getting married. Angelica and her husband make fun of it and Eliza and Alexander? Thei're just quiet and smile it off.
This one is different.
She's going to tell her father about her boyfriend Hercules Mulligan and the next day they will ask for his blessing and clearly Peggy was nervous.
Alexander and Eliza knew about Hercules and her dating which is why it was their turn to make jokes about Peggy and her love life.
"And when are you going to marry someone?", asked Alexander laughing. "Darling? Shut up.", whispered Eliza chuckling. "Is there something I should know?", asked her father and she sighed. "Uhm..... actually.... no. They're just thinking it would be funny taking the part of Angelica.", Peggy answered, blushing slightly.
It was embrassing for her that, even though her sister and Alexander knew she was going to tell their father soon, they still made jokes about it.
"Oh. Father. I invited someone over. I hope that's not a problem?", asked Eliza. "Really? Who is it?", her father asked. "Hercules Mulligan.", she answered as soon as a sharp knock was to hear. Peggy practically jumped up and sprinted to the door. She almost ripped it out of the hinges only to find a smirking Hercules infront of her. "What are you doing here? That was not the plan?", she hissed. "I love you too.", Hercules joked. "Don't you want to invite him inside?", her father asked from the table in the next room. Peggy sighed again and lead her boyfriend in the room. "So...uhm... we may have to- ouch!", Hercules cried out when Peggy kicked him unobtrusively to shut him up. "Shut up.", she whispered. Her father looked puzzled but brushed it off.
The evening went on and soon the men were drunk and joking.
The drunkness gave Alexander more courage to make jokes about Peggy.
The next morning Peggy was the first to wake up. She waited for everyone to wake up and as soon as Hercules and her father were awake and had breakfast she lost her shit. "Daddy? I am dating Hercules. And we want to marry.", she suddenly stood up but whispered the last sentence. "Wait what?" Everybody was shocked except for Alexander and Eliza who knew the whole thing the whole time. Hercules looked to Peggy and then to her father. "She's right.", he stood up too. "But I wanted to discuss this with you at a more quiet place." Her father nodded and sat everything by side.
He lead them to a quiet room where he gave his blessing for Elizabeth and Angelica and their husbands.
They had a long conversation and Peggy was almost crying and scared her father would say no. Untill she heard these two words she wanted to hear so bad. 'Be true'. Hercules' and Peggy's eyes grew wide.
Hercules smiled widely and thanked Peggy's father before he ran to her.
He picked her up and and spun her around before he kissed her.
Both happy as the Teletubbi sun, the three of them got back to the other two couples.
"Raise your glass for the third honorable man that get's to marry one of my daughters.", their father announced and Angelica smiled too.
One thing was for sure: that was the best family reunion they ever had.
