"Come to the Quidditch match with us!" Hermoine pleaded.

"Yeah it'll be fun," Ron chimed. Harry sat silently near us nervous for the game.

"I'm sorry I have a ton of homework. I'll come next game or something. You can tell me how it went later in the common room. Good luck Harry." I gave him a pat on the back on my way out. I made my way into the dormitories and quickly finished my homework in hopes that I could see the end of the game. Making my way down the long corridor some Slytherins flooded in the hall, Malfoy leading them. A chatter of unconcerned gossip echoed off the walls. "Ha, he fell so far off his broom." "Dumbledore is furious at the dementors."

"Draco, what's going on?" I demanded.

"A dementor made Potter fall off his broom. Everyone thinks he's dead," He said scoffing. "Always manages to make a scene," He said while laughing with the other Slytherins.

My heart dropped. I began to run but Malfoy stepped in front of me.

"Where are you going?" he looked as if It was stupid to care about him.

With my teeth gritted and my face burning with anger I managed to say "You know where! He's my friend!" I shoved past him and he nearly fell backward, startled. The crowd of Slytherins was dead silent as I began to run towards the hospital wing. I bolted as fast as I could down the halls and through the Gryffindor quidditch team. I opened the large hospital room doors to find Hermoine and Ron huddled by a bedside. I paused and Hermoine shifted to look at who had come through the door, which gave me a view of Harry lying awake in a hospital bed. I jogged towards them praying that the damage wasn't bad. I made eye contact with Harry's brilliant green eyes that were staring at me. He looked okay. Bringing my panting down a lot, I looked up to find Hermoine and Ron looking at me like I was the one who fell. "Bloody hell," said Ron. "Did you run all the way down here?" I crinkled my brow and said obviously: "What do you think? Your friends don't die every day. What happened? Are you okay?" He said "Yeah, fine.." That made me angry but I tried to stay calm. Hermoine asked softly "Who told you?" Hermoine and I were quickly close friends this year. She had know Ron and Harry longer, but it isn't the same as having a friend who is your gender. "Draco." My teeth clenched again. Ron immediately understood that wasn't a very good thing and put his hand on my right shoulder. Furious that I still had no clue what was going on, I almost shouted "Well! Is someone going to tell me what is going on or not?" I sat next to Hermoine on the hospital bed to the left of Harry's while she explained the story her eyes were bloodshot. When they filled with tears I gave her a tiny pack of tissues from my bag. Harry was quiet and I knew he must either be on medication or hiding something. "Ron? Hermoine? Do you mind if I talk to Harry for five minutes alone?"

(Harry's point of view:)

Ron and Hermoine seemed that they thought this request was odd but and I thought it was curious that she would want to talk to me in private, however, she looked curiously worried.

"People... Who have had terrible experiences in their life are affected worse by dementors."

"The reason dementors are a punishment for people in Azkaban is that they leave you with the worst experience you've ever had..."

I began to revisit what happened for the fifth time today:

"Remember how on the train I heard a woman screaming? My mum."

I was relieved. Someone understood..

"Harry I want to tell you this because Draco is going to give you hell for it. Remember why the dementors make you faint. It is NOT because you're weak."

She flopped onto the cot next to be and we laid in peaceful silence for about two minutes.

"Thanks Eva."
