Interview Rupert Grint Chamber of Secrets Interview

"Right after we watched the first movie, Eva taught herself how to whistle just so she could whistle the theme for it," he informed.

"Is she good?" the reporter asked.

"No, not really still, yet she does it all the time. Bit annoying actually," he says.

That was in 2002 during the filming of the Chamber of Secrets. Now, in 2007 during the films for The Order of The Pheonix, Director David Yates says "She hasn't changed too much in that aspect."

"Yeah, like when we're about to begin filming or she has to get into character, sometimes you'll hear her quietly humming the Harry Potter theme," he says brightly.

"It's true," Evangeline says in another interview. "It's really motivating, I don't know why! I almost feel mischievous when I hum it, it's really fun," she says.

"How do you think that you have changed since the first film?"

"Oh I've changed so much --- I don't know where to begin. I guess I can start off saying that the first film was really more like rehearsed play time or something -- I adored the Harry Potter books, and I got to pretend that I was part of that world for a while. Now, it still feels like I am really involved in the Wizarding World, but mostly the press and the job of acting rather than just pretending on screen," she answers. "I am a lot less shy in acting and in giving suggestions to David about my Character. And I am so blessed to have actually been able to get this role that I love, Evanora's experience represents everything that I value, like what it's like to grow up, and the importance of love, of course, and staying strong and true to yourself,"

David Yates on her change in behavior as she becomes a woman.

"I remember she used to just be so shy, would just follow orders -- now she still does, of course, but in her own way. She enjoys her character and everything she stands for, and really expresses her love for filming on set. Now, she comes up to me to talk when she thinks that her character would not do something written in the script, and she even talks to J.K. about what her reactions to certain situations would be so she can get a better understanding of her character, which she knows extraordinarily well."

Interview about essays:

"So I heard you all were told to write essays? What was that all about?"

"Uhm," Rupert Begins, "Actually I didn't --- I never did mine," he says. The three burst into laughter.

"Yeah, he basically asked us to write an essay about. . . who we thought our characters were, why they did the things they do, uhm, their backgrounds, their feelings, their thoughts, how they have changed in the first year of Hogwarts, the second year of Hogwarts, and now into the Third year," she informs.

"And, I felt really so pleased with myself, 'cause I knew Rupert hadn't done it, and so I felt so pleased 'I've done it, I've done it, I've done it,' and then Emma walks in with all sixteen pages of hers," he says. Emma and Evangeline laugh at this.

"And what about you?" the reporter asks Evangeline.

"Well I really like talking about my character, so I really wanted to do another one," she said.
