"How do you think acting in the Harry Potter franchise has changed you for the better?"

"In today's time, I feel as if i'm the same person as I was when I was 9, but i've fully blossomed into who I am. I'm still shy and insecure sometimes, but now I am a lot more confident to be able to do the silly and childish things I have always wanted to do. Like that one awesome time when I ran around in King's Cross in my Harry Potter costume, or when I went to the last Harry Potter premier and tossed away my umbrella because I loved the rain, which I would have never thought I would have had the courage to do at such a young age, as simple as it was. The biggest thing about Harry Potter was that I had a loophole to avoid my biggest fear, which was to grow up and live a normal life and become like a stern, ugly lawyer whose life is really dull and boring and what everyone else called 'successful.' I mean, not that I have anything against lawyers and not all of them are like that, but that was how I envisioned my life would go if I didn't pluck up the courage to audition for the Harry Potter films. Everyone tells me 'Oh, acting has really changed you, blah blah blah,' but really, it hasn't changed who I am --- just brought me out of my shell. My greatest accomplishment was finally deciding that I loved cargo pants. And overalls.

"How did people react to that?"

"Everyone took it by surprise because they see me as kind of a fashionable person, and I was like 'What's not fashionable about cargo shorts?' A lot of things, apparently. It was really surprising that people have such a strong hatred for a pair of pants. But at the same time, i've been getting tweets like, someone said to me 'Finally, someone is doing something about cargo shorts!' and someone said: 'Nobody can tell me not to wear cargo shorts anymore, because i'm just going to tell them that Jane Evangeline Ross did and looked amazing, so I can too,' and I was so proud then because I have like a mini army of women that love cargo shorts. Complete strangers really bond with me over the fact that I wear cargo shorts, which is amazing. It's quite funny how react. They either absolutely hate them or absolutely love them. And I love them because not only are they comfortable, but for some reason I find them attractive, and they match my personality since I'm a person who does things that are very taboo and goofy. Not to mention, I can put so many things in my pockets, like i'll never forget my phone, or if someone wants an autograph I already have a pen, I don't have to carry a purse, which is amazing, and they're a real adventurer's pants, you know? Like, you always see architects in T.V. shows wearing them, or explorer's in the Safari or something. Anyways, i've got a section in my closet dedicated to all kinds of cargo pants and shorts."

"Do you ever dress up Dan?"

"I don't necessarily dress him up, every once in a while i'll be like, 'hey, you should get these pants,' and I got him to wear these camouflage, long cargo pants once, and then I ended up buying a similar type of pants for myself later because I loved them so much."

"What would a perfect day go like?"

"It would be overcast, and sprinkling throughout the morning and the middle of the day and one of my close friends or Dan and I would go to the park and just goof off, and then we would go eat frozen yogurt and try to hide our faces from crowds and then it starts to rain so we to my apartment and it starts to rain so we watch a documentary on whales or something."
