Evanora was driving Harry mad in love, and she knew it. She eventually figured out why Harry was avoiding her for the first week and it only gave her more of a reason to keep pushing him. He eventually started to pay attention to an old potions book that he didn't let anyone see.
She thought it extremely funny to take it. . . ;)
Harry looked behind him to where his book was to find Evanora smirking. He raised a brow and held his hand out for the book. She held the book up and looked at it in a mockingly curious way before looking to back to Harry. Her expression read: "What, this?" Harry stepped forward cautiously, his expression growing brighter but more curious as well. A mischievous grin spread across her face as she stepped backward toward the portrait door. A slight smile formed on his face after hers as he realized what she was going to make him do. Suddenly, she slipped out the portrait door and Harry groaned and chased after her. She looked behind her shoulder to see Harry jogging after her.
"Evanora!" Harry groaned, causing a series of mischievous giggles to erupt from her lips as they raced down the steps. A loud laugh escaped Harry as he reached the final ten steps. Each of Evanora's feet were dancing down each step in a tip-toe fashion, allowing her to make it to the bottom much faster than Harry. She stood ten feet from the bottom step of the staircase, brandishing the book like a prize. A few girls off to the side of the corridor watched, laughing as they chased each other. Harry leapt over the last 5 steps down to the bottom, so she quickly turned and made a run for it, her bright laughter illuminating the corridors and echoing through the halls. She passed multiple stone knight statues and turned left down the hall. The clouds in the sky blocked the sunset, causing every white cloud to turn a beautiful orange-pink. She skipped down the halls joyously as Harry turned the same corner and jogged after her. They were now grabbing the attention of multiple students in the halls. She turned another corner, this time to the right, still carrying his book tightly in her dainty right hand. Once he made the turn himself, she slipped into the Great Hall. Harry entered the Great Hall and panted, looking around for her. A finger tapped his left shoulder. He whirled around to fin her standing with a pursed-lip smile looking up at him. She held out the book. He smiled slightly through his panting mouth and looked down at the book up to her, not sure if it was a trick. He slowly and cautiously took the book, all the while looking back and forth between her and the old potions book. Her smile unfolded her lips as she looked at the table where Hermione had erupted into laughter knowing what I had just done. Ron was laughing as well as the group of students who we passed earlier had peeked into the Great Hall to see. Harry looked at the dining table with our friends slightly chuckling realizing what I must have done. Her mischievous look, a panting Harry, and a book that was not hers told them the story, and they found it quite entertaining. Harry looked back to her who was smirking brilliantly up at him. He finally let a large smile cross his expression and rolled his eyes as he went to go sit down on the Gryffindor table across from Hermione and Ron. Harry glanced up from his seat to see her sit down next to him.
"That was fun," she said delightedly to Hermione, Ron, and Harry before enjoying supper. Harry eventually found Professor McGonagall looking at them warmly. Her eyes were glinting with the memories of her past. She stood up and strolled over to our table.
"You know," she began, "You two resemble so much of your mother and father, Mr. Potter," she said happily before strolling off in her long cloak and Witch hat. Harry stared at her bewilderedly as he pondered this. She had been a professor when they went to Hogwarts. He wondered what they were like when they were in love at Hogwarts and how they were like him and Eva. He looked to Evanora, who was also looking at Professor McGonagall curiously and turned to Harry. He shrugged and stuck a fork into chicken on his plate.
There was one thing that Harry got from that experience that night: his book wasn't the only thing that Evanora had stolen from Harry.
They were prepared to be like soldiers in the very front line of the battle, and she felt that they should make every moment count while they were at Hogwarts.
