Christmas Dinner at the Weasleys

I was invited to the Weasley's home for Christmas Dinner, as well as Dean Thomas, Hermione, and Harry.

Dinner went well and was absolutely delicious. Molly Weasley was a magnificent cook, and desert was amazing but I had just enough willpower to refrain myself from eating too much. Harry and I were sitting on the couch and talking when I had the best idea. I slipped a gummy from the twins into a pie.

"Have you tried one of these?" I asked Harry. He shook his head. "Eat it then, it's really good, I said, feeding him the part where the gummy was, and waited him to swallow it to let my face break into a grin. He looked suspiciously but couldn't help a smile as well.

"Eva. . . ? What did you do?" I pursed my lips closed to refrain from laughter that burst out of my mouth as soon as his head started morphing into an elephant. I hunched into a ball while laughing harder watching his elephant trunk wiggle in the air. He tried to talk but only made elephant noises. His face morphed back into human.

"I've never seen an elephant with glasses before," I said, smiling mischievously as he gave me a playful nudge. Soon things went silent as we watched each other closely until there was a roar of fire out the window. I shot up to the window and everyone started coming to the door. A ring of fire surrounded the house. I exchanged worried glances with Harry, although by now I was used to this. However, I was still impulsive and hot tempered. Remus and Tonks stood by the door in front of Mrs. Weasley and Arthur. I peered out onto the field from behind their shoulders when a familiar figure appeared inside the ring of fire. Bellatrix was illuminated by the flames beside her and her figure flickered with the firelight. Her loud, cackling laugh went through my body like physical pain. She is free but she belongs in Azkaban, I thought. Now is my only chance. I impulsively darted after her as fast as I, and she ran through a small space through the fire. Remus, Arthur Weasley's and Molly Weasley's shrieks and booming "NOOOO!"s were filling the air, but all I could hear was her laughter. I ran through the small gap between the flames, not giving a damn if I got burnt.

Even more "STOP"s and "NOO"s called from behind. I processed that Harry was following behind me as I bolted through the long, tall grass. It slapped against my hair and clothes and I didn't know how far out I was, I didn't care. Luckily, I was a very fast runner.

"I killed Sirius Black! I killed Sirius Black! Haheha!!" Bellatrix chanted through the air. If I was being timed, I knew for a fact that I would have broken my record. My legs powerfully stomped on the ground as I struggled to keep up with them. I gripped my dark Blackthorn wand in my slender hands and panted for air. "You coming to get me?" she shrieked and laughed as she ran. I was close behind her now. "Baby Venus, can you get me? You coming to get me?" she laughed. I was nearly ten feet behind her when I lost where she was. I froze. I knew there were others that were coming after Harry, and I fell right into their little trap. What have I done? Harry. I need to find him. Then, I heard a twig snap somewhere nearby and I crouched as the figure came nearer. I was near a clearing where a pond was and backed away slowly. A figure emerged from the wheat and I stood up tall. He was half-smiling. He was NOT Harry. He was Fenrir Greyback, a werewolf who was known to be determined to infect multiple kids so that being a werewolf would become the norm in future generations. I gripped my wand at my side, unsure of what to do. If I made a move on him, he would fight back vigorously, attracting the attention of the other death eaters. I knew he was not alone, but I was. If I didn't do something quick, he would attack me, so I decided to stall him quietly.

"Maybe it would interest you to know. . . You're not the only werewolf out tonight," I said slowly while backing away. He looked confusedly at me before his expression got angry.

"You're lying," he said fiercely in a hoarse voice, stepping closer. My ankles reach cold water as I took another step back into a large puddle-like area. I give up stalling and make a move.

"Stupefy!" I chant, and he deflects it with his wand. Suddenly, someone comes rushing up out of the brush behind me. It was Harry, and for a split second I am relieved as the death eater Apparates away until I realize what i've done. "Harry, it's a trap," I whisper, facing him.

There are noises all around us through wheat that we cannot see. We get back to back facing in opposite directions on a dry spot in the middle of a large puddle. I scan all around us. Remus yells "HARRYYYY" from somewhere far away. I see a dark cloud attached to a dark figure and whip a spell at him without words as a white light emerges from my wand. Harry deals with someone somewhere behind me. Dark figures sneak around as I fire spells at those with black smoke around them. Soon Remus and Tonks join by our side and we all stand back-to-back whilst fighting. Soon, someone makes a hissing noise and soars through the air with a trail of black smoke, followed by multiple death eaters. I watch as they soar through the walls of the house, which bursts into flames. Arthur Weasley says one word before darting off towards the house.

"Molly," he said, running for her. We all follow his lead and we come outside to find Ron, Fred, George, and Molly Weasley watching their home burn down. Molly was teary-eyed. I just stood by Harry as everyone looked mortified at the house.

Back at Hogwarts, I was riddled with guilt although I didn't know why I felt like it was my fault.

"It's easy for them to get to you," Hermione said. "You're bloody lucky you weren't killed, Evanora," she said.

"Do you have to remind me of how much of an impulsive idiot I am?" I said. "Honestly, sometimes I even surprise myself." I said. I used my typical snarky comments to insult myself and cover up my feelings. It only really hit me of how depressed I was after I said this sentence. I hadn't even laughed since I saw Bellatrix and was on the verge of being upset all the time, but showed only a look of being shaken. It was only two days after the incident, and I still hadn't fully gotten over Sirius's death, only ignored it, and that was why Bellatrix set me off so easily. I nearly killed Harry for falling into their trap. I let out a quick sigh to try to relieve the tightness in my throat and quickened my pace ahead of them. "You shouldn't have gone after her, either. It's just what they wanted," Hermione said. "You have to realize who you are sometimes, Harry,"

"I know--- it's just --- I really hate her."

"Evanora?!" Hermione said quickly and gasped. Harry froze in shock and countered backwards. They were drawing a little attention.

"NO! No, god, Bellatrix. Really Hermione?" he said angrily out of stress and the muscles in his jaw flared. "Sorry." he apologized at him being a tad harsh. There was an awkward pause of silence.

"You know. . . she's a bit put out. Do me a favor and get a smile out of her, will you?" she said before walking off to the library.

THE NEXT DAY

"You saved him?" I asked, looking at Harry bewilderedly before sitting on the hospital bed beside Ron. Apparently he had been accidentally poisoned after sipping wine from Slughorn as a 'pick-me-up' from the cure of the love potion which made him feel awful. The love potion was in the form of chocolates given to Harry by Romilda Vane. Ginny and Hermione sat on either side of Ron. I smirked as Ron muttered Hermione's name and Lavender ran away.

"About time," I say to Harry.
