Basketball Neighbor

Bounce

Bounce

Bounce

Goes the ball two doors down

Swish

It goes in the net with the sound of the wind

Swishing through the trees

Bounce

Swish

I listen to the sounds of my basketball neighbor

Two doors down

I never see the person

Bouncing that ball

But their methodological practice has become a soundtrack

A soundtrack to my afternoons spent indoors

Bounce

Bounce

Bounce

Swish

My heart beats in time

The rhythm that is created

Tends to open the door to creation

I look

I listen

I create

To the beat of my basketball neighbor

Inspiration: my neighbor's consistent basketball practice that tends to happen when I am working on a project, homework, or relaxing
