I'm sitting here on my sunshine bench
No one is out
I hear the distant construction
Creating something new
I hear the distant teachers
Teaching something new
I can almost feel the students
Itching to be free anew
And I sit here alone
Eating something old
My typical salad
With the sun beating down on me
And a sense of calm emerges
Once again
It's been awhile
But I love moments like these
Where there is sun
Where there is a slight breeze
Where I am alone
And there is quiet
A simple moment of peace
Permeating through my world
And nothing can touch me
Nothing can hurt me
Nothing can worry me
On my sunshine bench
Inspiration: Eating lunch out back, during my free period, school, and sun
