Alfonso
Alfonzo
A name I didn't know until a few years after I first saw his face
And I still don't know how to spell
To me, he was the boy called Spiderman
Spiderman
Some say he looked like the actor that was in the movies
But since I never watched them, I never knew for sure
He was agile, athletic and flexible
And was a star soccer player
Perhaps that is a reason why
Spiderman
He was new that summer, just like me
He got along great with the boys
All my friends liked him
I guess I liked him too
Alfonso
Alfonzo
He was also called molasses
Which I really didn't understand
He was one of the fastest on the field
Was never slow at all
I never thought him to be sweet
He was him
He was Spiderman, not sweet
Alfonso
Alfonzo
A school year went by
And when he came back
We locked eyes and I knew something was different
This summer he was quiet
Barely talked to his closest friends
Still played soccer, but wasn't all the rage
They barely called him Spiderman or molasses
Barely called his name
To me, he was still the boy called Spiderman
Spiderman
This summer Gabe was the rage
Gabriel and his little brother
The ones that looked like twins
The little one was popular because of his older brother
But he was the one too young for us
Gabe got along well with the boys
All my friends liked him
I guess I liked him too
But I never forgot the boy called Spiderman
A school year and a summer later
I see him once a month
Now that I go to his school
Passing the the halls, barely looking up
Two silent people
Seeming alone, just like me
He never knew who I was
And I still think he doesn't know
Or doesn't remember me from those summers
Just a silent observer
Of the boy called Spiderman
Spiderman
Inspiration: A boy nicknamed Spiderman
Sorry if this one kinda sucks too... I wrote it in a few minutes...
