I could leave the kisses behind
Even though it's sweet and kills me every time
Forget about the sex
Even if I hold my breath
Drop the hand holding
Even though I brace for the one moment
And cut the eye contact
Actually scratch that - I'm a sucker for heart melting eye contact
I'm just here for the journey
The relationship
The care
The love
In both good and bad
The flaws and perfections
I want those kisses to mean something
The sex to be a true vulnerability
The hand holding to be an unbreakable link
The eye contact to be soul searching and soul soothing
I want the story to be whole
Because if they do all those things
But without the substance
I could really care less
Because it means nothing at all to them
So why should it mean something to me?
So when you tell me that I'm here just because they kissed
Please know that I'm not here for the kisses
And shouldn't be too
I'm here for the love
Inspiration: School, fall play, skam, and a friend
Notes on the formatting: So I decided to type this up the way I wrote it in my notebook - almost like a display of the way it naturally flowed...
