"So what are we going to do for your birthday this year?" Tommy asks as he walks into the living room where I'm playing with our baby. "I mean it's getting close."

It's the day after Christmas and Tommy is right, my birthday is in about six days. Melody was spoiled her first Christmas and not only by Tommy and I. Mötley Crüe, Van Halen, our parents, our siblings, literally everyone. We had two Christmas dinners and had to go to two Christmas masses but it was a lot of fun, I'm glad our families are getting along.

"I don't know, babe. We can't really have a huge party or anything because of Melody." I remind him.

"But we couldn't do anything for my birthday because I was on tour, I want to do something for yours." Tommy tells me and sits down beside me. "The question is what?"

"I thought the questions was to be or not to be." I joke and he smiles.

"You're such a dork." He tells me and I laugh.

"What about Melody's birthday? That's a couple of months away." I remind him. "I think her birthday is going to be a little more important than mine."

"Baby, the baby's birthday is going to be successful either way. We could call up everyone and say that we're having the party tomorrow and everyone would be here." Tommy reminds me.

"Okay, then try this one." I challenge and he smiles.

"Lay it on me." He laughs.

"We've been engaged for a while now and we haven't even thought about planning a wedding." I remind him.

"Oh right! Maybe we should just run to Vegas or the courthouse?" Tommy asks and I think for a minute. "How do you think your brothers would kill me? Hit me with a tour bus?" He asks with a laugh. "I love how you were thinking about it too."

"I don't care how or when we get married." I admit. "I just want to get married eventually."

"We will, I mean I never want Melody to settle for anyone and I want her to have a good idea of a family. I don't want her to grow up thinking that it's the norm to have a baby and never get married." Tommy explains and kisses my lips. "I'm going to marry the girl of my dreams and we're going to be a set a good example for our baby daughter."

"I can't wait." I admit and my fiancé smiles. "I love you so much."

"I love you too." He says and kisses my lips.

Tommy scoops up our daughter and pulls her into his lap. Melody giggles when Tommy kisses her which makes Tommy smile. Our baby starts to babble little random words in a language that she created. She grabs my finger and jams it into her mouth, I can feel her teeth breaking through her gums and it's pretty sharp.

"Mommy tastes good, huh?" Tommy asks her with a laugh and kisses my temple. "Come on, let's walk, baby girl."

Tommy stands up and holds onto Melody's little hands. She starts to take little steps and I smile, she's getting so big. They walk around the couch a couple of times, Melody laughs and Tommy smiles because he's so proud of his little daughter. Tommy stands about three feet away from me.

"Walk to mommy, little lamb." He tells her and let's go of her hands.

Melody stands there for a second and looks up at her father then across from me. She makes a little sigh noise and sits down.

"Tommy, she's only like nine and a half months old." I remind him. "She's been ahead if the curve for a lot of things but she might not be ready to walk. Some babies don't walk until they're like sixteen months old."

"I know, I just want to see these things. I feel like I'm missing so much and I don't want to miss anything else. I feel like she's going to think someone else is her dad or that she doesn't have one." Tommy admits and scratches the back of his neck. "It fucking sucks."

"Tommy, no." I say as I stand up. "Listen to me, she loves you so much. Melody knows that you're her daddy." I tell him. "You're bound to miss somethings and I'm bound to miss others but that baby girl loves you so much it's not even funny. She hates David." I explain and he laughs. "I'm not kidding either, she won't go to him and she will cry her eyes out. David still loves her though."

I pick up our daughter and Tommy kisses her head. He looks down at me and laces his fingers with mine.

"I love you so much." He whispers.

"I love you too." I tell him and he kisses my lips.

We're going to get married one day and then we'll be that perfect little family. I love Tommy and I love him more than anything, well, maybe as much as I love Melody. They're the most important people people in my life, it's weird because at one point those most important people were my brothers.

Yes, Alex and Eddie are still extremely important to me and they always will be. They're my big brothers and they always will be but they're not the first people I want to talk to in the morning, that's Tommy. I'm always going to need them in my life but I don't need them to protect me and keep me safe, Tommy has promised me that he's going to do that. I think it's kinda weird for Eddie and Alex, me not needing them as much anymore.

Tommy takes our little lamb from my hands and gently tosses her up and catches him again. Melody loves doing that but it always scares me a little bit, Tommy always assures me that he won't drop her and I know he never would but as a mother I am a little worried. He catches me watching him closely and he laughs.

"You worry too much, baby." Tommy tells me and kisses my lips again.

I have a perfect daughter and a perfect fiancé, I have great parents and amazing older brothers. I'm the luckiest girl on this planet.
