**Author's Note: I do not own the song that is shown in this chapter. The original song is Circle by Flyleaf.**
-----------------------------------------------I woke up to a loud crash of thunder, and a howl. I jumped out of the bed and ran downstairs. I picked up Sammy from the pin.
The poor baby was shaking, so brought him upstairs with me. Aiden looked at me.
"Did you really bring the dog in here?" He asked.
"Yes," I said. He nodded and turned back over to go to sleep. Sammy crawled between me and Aiden and fell asleep. I looked at the clock and saw 4am...
I sighed and dozed back off...
When I woke up, there was no one else in the bed. I went downstairs to see Aiden playing with Sammy on the floor in the living room. I took a picture before he noticed I was there, and then walked behind him. I wrapped my arms around him and kissed his cheek.
"Good morning baby." I said softly.
"Morning," he said. Sammy barked at me, his tail wagging.
"Good morning Sammy." I smiled and scratched his head. He panted a little and followed me into the kitchen.
"So I was wondering if you and me could go work in the studio today, and drop Sammy off at Mom's." Aiden said, as he walked in the kitchen stretching.
I pulled out some eggs and cracked them in a bowl to make scrambled eggs.
"I think that would be cool." I said. "Just you and me?"
"Yeah I have some things I wanna show you. But I don't wanna hurt Mike's feelings." He said. I looked at him confused.
"Alright. Well send out a text and tell them you and me are going by ourselves today, and if they need anything let us know they're coming first." I said.
We ate breakfast and got dressed. I wore black skinny jeans, and a black and white boyfriend style plaid button up shirt. I put my hair up in a high pony tail with a bandana that had skulls on it.
"Are we just going to the studio?" I asked.
"Maybe we could go see a movie after." He smiled.
"Okay." I said. I put on a little make up and put on black vans.
"You look mighty gothic today." Aiden chuckled.
"Oh well." I laughed.
"It's hot every now and then." He smirked.
I smiled and looked at him.
"Let's go, crazy." I said, grabbing his hand.
We stopped by Rachel and Carl's house and dropped off Sammy. Rachel was over joyed. I thanked her and we headed to the studio.
Once we made it inside, Aiden turned on the computer.
"I have an issue." He said. "With this one song."
"Circle?" I asked.
"Yeah. Didn't you write it?" He asked.
"Yes. I wanted to sing it too, but Mike thought if Chester did it, it would be more heavy. He changed a bunch of lyrics and everything." I sighed.
"Is it the same background music?" Aiden asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"I want you to sing it. The way you wrote it." He said. I smiled a bit and grabbed the lyric paper from the file cabinet. I went in the booth and sung the song, that was very personal to me.
"Circle encircles the earth
Chance and choice break his heart
His innocent arm moves to save me and I am sparedHis beautiful arm
Is bloody and cut off
His heart ripped out to show me he loved meBut I wouldn't believe him
He did all that he could
I still would not believe himI left his arms empty and tied
Outstretched for me until he died
Left his arms empty and tied
Outstretched for me until he diedNo man shows greater love
Than when a man
Lays down his life
For his belovedI left his arms empty and tied
Outstretched for me until he died
Left his arms empty and tied
Outstretched for me until he diedHere I am alive
And I don't have the right
And he gave me the right
Costing him his life
New mercies in the morningI believe
What if I believe you now?
Could it ever change this heart?
Forgive me, relieve me
And please come back to lifeI believe
What if I believe you now?
Could it ever change this heart?
Forgive me, relieve me
And please come back to life
Come back to my lifeI believe
What if I believe you now?
Forgive me, relieve me
Please come back to life."When I was done tears were rolling down my cheek. I looked at Aiden, and his eyes were watered. I smiled, and walked into the control room. And sat in his lap.
"What's that song about?" He asked me.
"You." I said. "And what I put you through."
"I love it. And I'm here. I'm always going to be here." He asked. "I'm alive again, now that I have you again."
Tears formed in my eyes again, and I cuddled into him. He did a little bit of editing while I sat in his lap.
The door opened and Mike walked in. Oh crap.
"Hey guys, what's up." He said.
"Oh, hey Mike." I said softly. Aiden exited out of the song editor.
"Hey." Aiden said softly.
"What y'all working on?" He asked.
"We were just messing around trying to see if something sounded good." I said.
"Let me hear." Mike smiled.
"It's not done yet..." Aiden trailed off.
"Well let me hear what you've got then." Mike insisted. I gulped a bit, but we played the song for him. After it was over, Mike just looked at me.
"Why did you change it back?" He asked.
"I wanted to hear it. I didn't make any changes to yours, though." Aiden defended, slightly annoyed.
"Whatever man. Don't come in here acting like you own the place. You're new." Mike smarted off.
"It was my idea." I lied.
"It...it was?" Mike asked.
"Yeah." I said softly.
"Oh...well that's different." He said. I sighed and looked at Aiden.
"Let's go home. We heard it. That's all there is to it." I said and got up.
I walked out of the studio without another word. All the bickering is getting really old.
