A Month And A Few Weeks Later

Nabi and Sang Hyuk continued working late hours at night for the past month or so. Nabi had met the rest of the investigation team and was working with them as well. They were full blown professionals and were very much glad to have Nabi on their side since she proved to be more than helpful. They all began their separate work on investigating not only her father, but the business men around him as well.

Since witnessing a weak and vulnerable Nabi, Sang Hyuk had began feeling over protective of her. He didn't like people talking down to her. Especially shareholders who thought they were better than her. They grew close since they've been working long hours into the night. Most of the time, the two ended up sleeping on Nabi's office couch with papers sprawled out all around them. They would even laugh and joke around with each other, making the stress they were feeling instantly melt away.

Meanwhile, Lina continued to update Nabi on her friends who were protecting Kwon Jiyong from afar. So far, nothing threatening happened to Kwon Jiyong, so it made Nabi's heart rest at ease. Lina has proven herself worthy in Nabi's book. Not only she was kind but she was also thoughtful. On some nights, the nights she was able to, she would stay in late and help them look for more things through out Nabi's father's company records. She would also go out of her way to provide coffee and snacks for them. She was amazing at anything she did because she was so positive. It made Nabi and Sang Hyuk feel refreshed everytime she spoke about something that would uplift their spirits since they were always self party poopers.

"Are you sure?" Sang Hyuk asks.

Nabi nodded. "You need to rest. I can do this tonight. I have a feeling I'll be able to find something."

Sang Hyuk, not wanting to leave Nabi alone, but also haven't been able to sleep properly in a while, decided she'd be fine on her own for one night. As he closed the door, Nabi began working. The sun was still up but she had no meetings, so she felt like there were no reason for her to hold onto Sang Hyuk or Lina. Lina left without a question, saying something about free time to watch kdramas or something along the lines. It took Sang Hyuk longer to convince but he eventually caved in and left.

As she began searching through the long history of her father's company, hoping she could find something, she began to feel sleepy. The moment she started feeling herself getting sleepy, she stood up and began stretching, hoping it would wake her up. She would stretch her back, touch her toes, spin her hips, and even began doing small dances, all in the name of helping her stay more awake. Then her mind went wondering as she stood by the large glass windows in her office.

The city lights brightened the whole country as the night life began. From Nabi's office, she could see all the people walking around, bumping into each other due to the crowded side walks. Stores that lined the strip were open, shining their bright products up front to lure people into buy something. Even the roads crowded over with cars going this way and that.

Nabi was so busy looking out the window, that when she saw the odd figure of a man come up behind her in the reflection of the window, it was too late for her to do anything. A large hand with a white cloth went over Nabi's mouth and nose. As she screamed, she felt the sudden burn as she inhaled whatever was on the white cloth. Her muffled screams were of no use, as she slowly started to loose consciousness. Her body began to feel heavy and her vision began to grow dark. Her eyes soon rolled to the back of her head as her body went limp.

4 Hours Later

Nabi felt herself starting to wake up. Her eyes couldn't open much, but she felt herself being alert. She could now hear things, which wasn't much since it was mostly silence. She could also smell things, mostly musty and nauseating to Nabi's nose. Slowly, she opened her eyes, feeling the heaviness that came with it. She felt like she had been sleeping for only a few long hours, yet her eyes were the heaviest things to move. As soon as light came pouring in, her eyes shut tightly. The light caused a surge of heavy migraines to pulse through out her head. She began wondering where she was at, this thought caused a bunch of memories to suddenly surface. She remembered looking out the window but she blacked out right after seeing a man in the reflection of the window.
