Elliot was cute but people at her school saw past his looks and paid more attention to his family income. Mia didn't know what she liked about him "His hair though..." she said not realizing that she said this out loud.

"What? Who's hair?" Tia asked as they were trying on their new clothes and shoes. Mia went wide eyed and said "Um...Prince Royce!" She tried to look believable. "Oh...he is one...sexy man that can get lost in my closet any day..." Tia just loved looking at him all day. "What famous people can do to you Tia" Mia laughed.

"Try the red dress you bought, I wanna see it." Tia requested. Mia did as she said and thought the dress showed off her curves oh so sweetly. "I love it!" Tia said excitedly. "It pops and shows off you're almost there booty." Tia chuckled and snapped a picture of her.

"What are you doing Tia?"

"Instagram..." Tia said already posting the picture and looking satisfied. "I know the comment will be...hmmmm 'Jealous darlings? Too bad she's mine' they are gonna go crazy" Tia tapped the post button on her IPhone.

"Tia, you know I love you right? Stop posting pictures of my butt! Someone is gonna get the wrong idea eventually."

"Oh you know I'm only showing that I only hang out with bad, as my mom would say, female dogs." Tia snapped her fingers as she spoke.

Mia looked at her reflection in the mirror and hated what she saw. She didn't care about her looks because she knew no matter what everyone would say she's gorgeous. But what she saw was a growing monster. A temple of broken souvenirs and misery not from her but from people she stomped on. She remembered a girl that she drove into the nut house.

Tia was mostly to blame. She loves her but sometimes she has to tame the beast. "Tia? What if we were poor? Like that Elliot boy. Would people think we are ugly?"

"Sweety their is no way we will ever be poor so don't even think about that. Why are you bringing up Elliot anyways? Did he do something to you? If he did you better tell me!"  Tia stopped what she was doing and looked truly concerned.

Tia only wanted her version of what was best for Mia so even if it was something unimportant it still meant a lot to Mia that it meant anything to Tia.

"He didn't do anything Tia. I was just thinking that's all." Mia looked sad and didn't try at all to cover up her emotion. Tia hugged her and said "What's wrong? You know you can tell me anything Mia. I wouldn't be labeled as your best friend for nothing."

"It's nothing Tia! Really! Look I'm gonna go home. I had a long day." Mia gave her air kisses and said her good byes to Tia's parents.

'Why can't I stop thinking about Elliot' she thought to herself as she was walking home. She regretted wearing those Valentinos she loved so much. Heels are not meant for walking. She knew she would have to go through the middle-class neighborhood to get to her upper-class mansion. 'I hope no one wants to steal my shoes today' she giggled at the thought of someone picking her up and taking her shoes.

"WATCH OUT!" someone with a very young voice screamed and before Mia knew it a soccer ball smacked her in the face. It left behind dirt and a big bruise.

"WHAT THE FREAKIN HELL?" she turned around so fast that the kid back up a little. "I'm s-sorry Ms." the little boy said. "I-I didn't meant to I swear.

"Watch where your kicking that stupid ball next time you kids are so stupid these days!" she didn't realize that the boy was half crying and half cowering in fear.

"HEY! Don't you talk to him like that." Elliot came walking down his yard like somewhat of a hero and moved the kid so he could go run and play with his friends. He was also shirtless which automatically made Mia half freak out like she did when she watched Taylor Lautner flaunt his body in movies "I don't care if you call me a million names and stab be a million times, but I will die before I stand here and let you talk to my baby brother like that." He stood proud and tall.

She paid no attention to his words but more to his body. She had never in her whole life seen him this bare. He flexed up when he was furious and this made her mind jumble up into a tornado of thoughts. "What?" was all she managed to say.

"Mia is it? Why don't you just stay on your territory and stay out of my neighborhood. You obviously don't belong here." He looked her straight in the eyes.

Mia has never had any real problems because she could always solve it by flaunting her body to somebody or showing her beauty off. She tried get closer to him but he stepped back "What are you doing?" he looked confused.

She was confused herself "I honestly don't know..." she just stood there looking like an idiot.

"You were leaving right?" he looked anxious for her to leave. Then he crossed his arms waiting for her to move or talk or something.

"I forgot what I was doing...I um..." as she was becoming a nervous wreck the chain fell out of her cardigan. Her first instinct was to grab it and run. As she went to pick it up nonchalantly Elliot was already a step ahead of her.

"Why do you have this Mia?" he looked disgusted and shocked at the same time.

Mia couldn't bring up anything because his expression made her feel guilt. "I found it."

"What would a girl like you want with a 24 carrot gold chain with my name on it?" He shook his head in disappointment. "I knew someone stole it  but I didn't think it would be someone of your class. That's really low even for you." he clenched onto the necklace as if promising himself to never let it go.

"I-" was all Mia could say.

"Don't even I don't care about what you have to say." He walked to his door and went inside his house.

Mia stood on the sidewalk. Crying.
