Elliot sat down next to Mia and shooed his mother away. He was wearing a black plaid shirt that was ripped by the neck part. There was a small blood stain near the rip. He had a black eye and bruises on his stomach.

She could only see those bruises because his shirt was half unbuttoned and showed more skin than any girl could handle.

"Mia? What's wrong?" He said as he took off his vans and sat next to her. He held her in his arms and petted her head hoping that she would feel some sort of comfort.

"I really wanted to talk to you because you're the only person that cares and won't judge me." She cried and buried her face into his chest. He smelled like sweat and dirt. "What happened to you? Why is there blood on your shirt?"

"Don't worry about it right now. Why are you crying? Did anyone hurt you?"

"Tell me Elliot. What happened?" She looked more worried then sad now.

"I got beat up. It's whatever I'm use to it. Now what's wrong?" He looked irritated at the subject and didn't want to talk about it further so Mia stopped asking.

"I just...you will probably think it's stupid since anyone else would just brush it off..."

"You can tell me anything and I won't think it's stupid. It can't be stupid if it has you in this much pain." He looked her in the eyes trying to make her believe his sincerity.

She sighed and started speaking. "I miss my old life. I miss waking up in the mornings and smelling my favorite strawberry waffles being freshly made and the smell of coffee. I miss walking into the kitchen and seeing my dad reading his newspaper and drinking his coffee and letting me taste it when my mother wasn't looking. I miss actually being comfortable with my mother and knowing she loves and cares for me. Ever since they split she's always running off with some guy and coming home at random days and hours."

Elliot hugged her tightly and said "Where's your dad? Why don't you go live with him?"

"He pays the house and sends money so we can keep living in luxury but he thinks that is all he needs to do. He doesn't really talk to me anymore since he moved out. I never see much of him and I really need him right now." She finally stopped crying and just stayed in his arms.

"Mia...he is a fool for not wanting to spend time with his daughter. Especially one like you." he moved his hand to her hand and grabbed it. "I think your mom loves and cares for you. She's just so absorbed in her own little world to let you know that. Just give it time Mia."

Mia shook her head and said " No, she doesn't. If she ever did tell me it would be for show so people can think we are a perfect family. I hate her..."

"Mia, she's your mother and you can't hate her for this. You can resent her and dislike her but you will love her anyways. She gave birth to you and was amazing at one point and never gave you up. I'm sorry that she is the way she is but I know she loves you." Elliot squeezed her hand and didn't let go even though he felt like it might of been awkward for her.

Mia sighed and decided to agree with him so he wouldn't argue. They stayed close together for a while until Elliot's mom walked in.

"Awwww you guys are adorable!" She said walking into the living room. They both jumped and moved away form each other.

"MOM! WHY????" Elliot yelled. She laughed and said "I'm sorry hun! I'll just be in my room if you need me."

"Do you wanna watch a movie or something? I have X-men which is my favorite movie series by the way. Ever want to make me laugh, just dress up as storm and splash water everywhere. You'd look so funny I could be crying and start laughing." Mia rolled her eyes and started to smile.

'He wants to watch a movie with me? Omg!!!! Okay calm down Mia' She continued to smile.

"Yes! I got a smile! So X-men it is then." Elliot put the movie in the silver DVD player and they started watching. He had to explain everything to Mia since she never saw the movies. They were already on the third one.

Mia hated watching action movies but he made it interesting since it showed the real side of Elliot.

"I can't believe you haven't seen this. It's the best one. So that guy shoots lasers out of his eyes and loves that girl with the red hair . That's Jean and now that I think about it she reminds me of you. Could probably kill me with one of her looks just like you." he laughed with his eyes glued to the screen.

"What do you mean? My looks don't kill" She looked offended but he didn't notice."

"Of course they do. You are pretty ya'know. Makes it hard to concentrate sometimes...Did I just say that?" He looked at her with his face redder than ever.

Mia started to laugh and nodded her head still laughing.

"Ugh, I'm an idiot. I can't take it!" He covered her mouth and continued to watch the movie.

'What the?' she thought to herself.

"Sorry...I just...forget it." He uncovered her mouth and started concentrating on the movie again laughing at the funny parts and explaining the confusing parts.

Once the movie was over Mia wanted to ask Elliot a question.

"I have a question for you." She said laying on the brown couch. He was sitting on the floor in front of her. His head was resting on her stomach since she was close to the edge of the couch.

He looked at her and said "Alright what is it?"

"Well I notice that you either make a face, look away, or do something weird when I smile or something. Why is that?" She raised her eyebrow.

He looked at her wide-eyed, "I have the next Movie. I'll put it in now."

"I would love to see the dude with the claws fight everybody but I want to hear an answer to my question!" She gave him the death stare.

"You see...looks...killing..." He tried to avoid the question some more.

"ELLIOT!" She crossed her arms and looked him dead in the eyes.

"Fine...Well your smile, well um...distracts me."

"What do you mean distracts you?" She was so confused.

He rolled his eyes and tried to explain as quickly as he could "When you smile it makes it hard for me to think and then I just start rambling on and on about stupid stuff and lose myself in my thoughts and I know you don't care about half the stuff I say but it's not your fault because I'm weird and I know that and-" He took a breath then continued. "I just get really nervous and it's hard to talk to you sometimes because you well forget it. It's hard okay?" He tried to hide his face into the shadow of the dark room.

The only thing that gave light to the room was the DVD logo floating across the screen waiting for a movie to be put in or a button to be pressed.

"Why am I so distracting?" She asked and tried to look at his face to see his expression.

"Because you know." He mumbled.

"No I don't know. I have no idea what it is about me that makes you act like this."

"You're beautiful..." He said softly so she could barely hear even though she did hear it clearly.

She started to blush and smile at the same time.

"I had no idea" she was still smiling on the inside and out.

"Yeah well I thought you knew since all the guys at school throw themselves at you...So wanna watch the next one?" He said the last part like an eager child.

"Sure let's watch it." Mia said getting ready to hear his rambles, explanations and cute laughter again.

By the end of the movie Mia and Elliot were fast asleep and showed no signs of waking up any time soon.

They slept there the whole night. It was the dream that was slowly coming true.
