~10 years later~

"Mia! Wake up! You're going to be late for school honey!"

"Ugh! I don't care about school!" yelled Mia from her room. She rolled over in her bed and pulled the covers over face. She loved her beauty sleep and hated waking up this early for school. She just wanted to leave school and become a famous supermodel. She had the face for it anyway. And the body. Who needed school anyway? For modeling, all you needed was a pretty face and good walking skills.

Mia grunted and got out of bed. She took off her face mask and put it on her nightstand. She walked over to her window and pushed opened the curtains. Sunlight always helped her wake up in the morning and make her feel less grumpy. She walked over to her dresser, looked in the mirror, and said,

"Gosh! I am so beautiful! Even when I first wake up."

She grabbed the bell off her dresser and rang it. Not even a second later, a lady in a maid uniform walked in.

"You rang Ms. Mia?"

Mia smiled at the older woman.

"How many times have I told you that you can just call me Mia. And can you curl my hair for me when I get out of the shower. It always looks better when you do it."

"Yes Ms... I mean Mia. Is that all?" said the lady as she went to make up Mia's bed.

Mia shook her head no and headed to her in-suite bathroom. Out of all the maids she had, Ms. Potters was her favorite one. She was more like a mother to her than her own mother. Her own mother was always jetting off somewhere with the new boyfriend of the month. She never knew when she would walk downstairs and see her mother in the kitchen. Unfortunately, this morning was a day her mom was home. Whenever her mom was home, she would put on an act like she cared about Mia and call her to get out of bed.

Mia shook her head and stopped thinking about her mother. Her mother was not her favorite topic. She closed the door to the bathroom, dropped her clothes and stepped into the shower.

"Thanks Ms. Potters! My hair looks so pretty!" Mia shrieked and jumped up and down. Now that she was ready for school, she shooed Mrs. Potters out the room and closed her door. She went and got her phone and called her best friend, Tia.

"Hey Miaaaaaaaa!" shouted Tia through the phone.

"Hey Tiaaa! When are you on your way?" Mia asked. She wanted to hurry and get school over with so she could go shopping with Tia after school.

"I am leaving my house now. Chive is getting the limo out of the garage now and I'm putting on my Louis Vuittons now." Mia rolled her eyes. Even though Tia was her best friend, she sometimes felt that Tia tried to rub in how much richer she was than Mia. When Mia bought her first Louis Vuitton, Tia bought three. She loved Tia as a sister, but this competition was annoying.

"Okay cool! I'll eat something I guess until you get here! See you soon. Smooches!"

"Smooches!" and the phone disconnected. Mia sighed and went downstairs.

She walked down her marble steps slowly in her heels. She could not afford to trip and ruin her perfect face. Then what would the guys at school drool over? When she got the last step, she sashayed to the kitchen. Whenever she walked, she was always perfecting her model walk in her head.

She looked to see what her breakfast was today. Her plate was sitting right at her favorite spot - the bench underneath the window. She smiled and sat down at the bench. She dug right into her bacon and eggs with a glass of pulp-free orange juice. For a rich girl like her, she did not have the table manners. She ate whatever she wanted and did not care who was watching unless she was at school. She had a reputation to keep. But, in her house she ate whatever she wanted. Her mom hated that. Whenever her mom saw her, she would always say

"What kind of daughter did I raise? She does not have any manners! She should eat with the pigs."

It always hurt Mia to hear her mom talk about her like that, but she would always come back with a smart remark and say,

"Like you even raised me! You're too busy with your new fling of the month all the time to even notice me!"

She shook her head again and realized she was thinking about her mom again. She tried to keep her mom out of her head and eat her food. Right when she was about to eat the last bite of egg, she heard a loud honk outside. It must've been Chive.

She wiped her face with the napkin, grapped a piece of gum and stuck it in  her mouth, and ran out the door. Well the best she could do in heels. She hated when Chive honked at her.
