"Did you call to tell me more secrets or keep more secrets?" Tia said obviously angry.

"Tia, it's not even like that. Let me explain." Mia said pleading so Tia would giver her at least five seconds to explain.

"Go ahead." Tia said with no emotion which was not like her.

"Tia, I really like him, like a lot. Like as much as you like your Prada purses. If you knew him like I did you would understand why. He's different from the rest of the guys. All of my past boyfriends wanted to have sex and I know they would leave if I let them get what they want because they left anyways. You've seen how long I was able to keep a boyfriend Tia." Mia said hoping Tia would understand.

"I bet he only says he likes you so he can tell his loser friends that he is dating the rich prettiest girl in the school. He probably wants the same thing as the other guys. What makes him so different Mia?"

"Tia, he doesn't make me do anything I don't want to do. I kissed him first not the other way around. He only wants to see me become a better person and not a whore like all the others want. He was there for me when you weren't. He saved me from John and made me super happy no matter what I did to him days before." Mia said almost in tears "That's what makes him so different. He can cook and talk on and on about nothing and make it interesting. I actually felt comfortable falling asleep around him without worrying that he might do something bad."

Tia was silent for a little while. "Tia?" Mia asked.

"Yeah I'm here." She still showed no emotion in her voice.

"Do you have anything to say?" Mia asked a little annoyed.

"No." Tia breathed out, "How long has this been going on?" She finally got some of her voice back.

"Well when you saw us in the hallway was suppose to be the first time we actually made it official." Mia said sighing.

"Official? So you have been going out behind my back. When were you gonna tell me? MIA! HE IS POOR!" Tia raised her voice even more "WHAT ARE PEOPLE GOING TO THINK?"

Mia was furious now "Tia! When are you going to stop caring about what other people think. Especially about me. Doesn't my happiness matter at all over my rep?" Mia asked hoping she could persuade Tia.

"Yes your happiness does matter to me, but can't you find happiness in your own social class?" Tia asked as nicely as possible.

"No." Mia decided to just give up with her.

"Mia you have to understand that it's just not the best thing for you right now. People will talk and it won't be nice things. I can promise you that." Tia said sounding slightly sad. Mia knows that Tia hates when people talk about her best friend.

"Can you just meet him so you can see what I see, pleeeaaasseeeeee?" Mia begged her best friend like she was begging her mother for another piece of cake.

Tia rolled her eyes and said "I want you to know I just rolled my eyes. I guess I can try...you are my best friend and you never get this excited about any guy. You've never "explained" to me."

"Oh my god! Thank you Tia!!!I promise you will like him!" Mia said so excitedly that she forgot she had to see if Elliot would even talk to her alone.

There was no answer at the door as usual. His mother would probably answer the door by now. No one came to the door.

Mia stood at the front of his house waiting for some sign life inside the TV-show like house.

After about twenty minutes of knocking and waiting she finally decided to give up. "Maybe I can go to the diner!" She jumped into her black Camaro and drove off to the diner.
