The park was the only place Mia could get privacy and have time to be alone and think. She looked over at the monkey bars and revisited her memory.

"Don't cry.  Here's a flower. My daddy says flowers make girls happy."

"What is wrong with me? He hates me so much now." She whispered to herself. She sat under the monkey bars in the spot  where Elliot gave her the flower when they were young. Thinking to herself 'He's gotten so hot...I want to be the one that has him all to myself. Or at least be friends with him.'

She sat there drowning in her thoughts. Thinking about all the mean things she's done to anyone. Mia was the only girl in school that had auburn red hair. It was more brown than red and it was so beautiful. A piece of her hair went into her face and made her close her eyes just until she wiped the hair out of her face.

She stayed in her spot for two hours just thinking. Time flew by and the world seemed dead and silent. It was as if she was all alone in the world. She sat there in the sand with her knees at her chin.

She accidentally said "I'm a horrible person. I don't deserve anybody..." Tears started pouring out of her eyes and she didn't try to wipe them away. She covered her eyes and started crying like a child would. At this point she didn't care who heard her.

She realized that she had to go home now. How would it look that a 17 year old girl was sitting under the monkey bars crying. She got up and turned around with her eyes staring at the floor. As she stepped forward a hand caught her shoulder. She jumped and prepared for the worst but when she looked up she saw Elliot looking pissed off and like he's had enough.

The second he looked into her eyes his expression changed. She was still crying and couldn't stop so she looked away. Her hands started to get shaky because Mrs.Potters was the only person she cried to and now she's crying in front of someone who she knew hated her.

"I was just leaving don't worry." Mia said as she tried to walk away again. He kept a hold of her shoulder but he didn't say anything. She got really scared due to the silence and said "What? Are you gonna yell at me? Are you gonna tell me things I already know?"

Elliot sighed and took a deep breath "I wasn't gonna do any of that. I heard what you said and I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I can't stand to see a girl cry no matter how much of a jerk she is. As much as I know I will regret this I guess I have to." He started walked her home even after everything her kind of people put her through.

"You really don't have to do this Elliot." She said looking down.

He stopped dead in his tracks, "No, I don't. I could of just let you walk home by yourself and then what? Maybe you're the suicidal type? Maybe you could of destroyed someone with your words because of your mood. Either way I'm saving someone's life here. No matter who you are you can never not be worth my time. For you to be crying out of all people is rare and for you to be crying in public means it has to be something that's killing you. You don't have to talk about it to me but just know one thing," they were at her white front door. "I' will never be to busy to help someone in need."

She processed everything he said making her look like an idiot again. "But how could you be so...so...nice to me after everything. Not even Tia will make time for me"

Elliot rolled his eyes "Look you are making this harder than it has to be. I'm not you, or your friends. For starters I'm not rich so while you were taking the time buying pointless things I was learning lessons that you can only learn by living life and giving to people who need. Just remember that." He walked off and when he got at least 15 feet from her house he yelled out "This doesn't make us friends."

                                                                                     ~

Mia sat in her room thinking about all the things Elliot said. 'If that's him thinking we are enemies then how would it be if we were friends.'

Mia had this habit of replaying events in her head how she wanted to go when she was depressed. She imagined that whole scene over again.

Mia was sitting under the monkey bars with her hair blowing beautifully in the wind. But she was crying. A hand rested on her shoulder and when she looked up it was Elliot, shirtless, saying "You're beautiful. Stop crying my love." Moments later they were on a random horse and rode off into the sunset.

In the middle of her Day dreaming Tia called. She looked at the pink phone and saw 23 texts and 5 missed calls from her.  She was forced to pick up. "Hello?"

"Why weren't you in Economics today? I brought you to school and you skipped? AND WITHOUT ME!" Tia sounded furious. "WHAT IF SOMEONE KIDNAPPED YOU? OR YOUR MOM CALLED AND I HAD TO MAKE UP A LIE THAT DIDN'T ADD UP? MIA I-"

Mia cut her off "Why do you care? I'm fine can't you tell? I was not in the mood to go to school Tia! You dragged me there anyways probably only thinking about yourself again." Mia started crying and Tia heard her sobs through the phone.

"Mia...I was just so worried about you. I sent you like a billion texts and called you too! I thought something happened to you. Mia," Tia started crying too, "You are my best friend and I thought you weren't okay. I was ready to kill someone if they did something to you and I found out. This wasn't about me Mia this was about my almost missing best friend that I love with all my heart! I'm outside by the way."

Mia hung up the phone and ran to her front door and when she opened it she saw Tia standing there in her worst clothes. Grey sweat pants and a green sequenced tank top. She had no make-up on and her eyes were bloodshot red.

She ran and hugged Tia as tight as she could "I'm so sorry Tia, I love you too." Her tears were still running down and she could feel water dripping on her shirt. "What are you wearing? You never leave your house like that."

"Mia, I was ready to file a missing person report. You're lucky I came here first. I drove myself. Are you proud?" She looked at Mia and smiled through her tears. Mia smiled back "Did I ever tell you how much I loved you Tia?"
